Does anyone know if we have a chance of getting this kid? I've heard we are not even on his final list. Can anyone verify that? I don't understand if we aren't. We need to get him to some of our games so that he can see he would get major minutes today. If you know about him but can't put it on here send me a PM. He would be a big time stud plus get a great education.

IF the ILLINI want him, and I think they do, that is where he will be playing. When the Athletic Center has your families name on it, it's a pretty good clue as to where his loyalty stands.
I agree that he will most likely be a preferred walk on his Freshman year."Losers find an excuse...winners find a way" - Joe Stowell

This article by Greg Stewart in the Peoria Journal Star from a couple weeks ago says essentially the same-
Bielfeldt took an official visit to Dartmouth last weekend, but Notre Dame coach Eddie Mathews said he doesn't expect his 6-8 power forward to make a college choice until next spring. It's also been said Bielfeldt is not considering a preferred walk-on option at Illinois.

I would love to hear the recruiting pitch Jim gives to big guys on why they would want to play in his system.
"What would you say if I told you I can offer you the opportunity to spend the majority of your time on the floor setting ball screens at the 3 point line, then rolling wide open to the basket without the guard turning to look for you until your no longer open. Oh, and we'll even feed you the ball in the post at least once a game. Plus, we'll blame you for a lack of rebounding even though our system keeps you from being in the paint most of time getting into rebounding position."
