  • We are 4-0...

I just wanted to remind everyone that we are 4-0 without our best all-around player. When we got the news that TB was going to be out, did anyone really think we would be 4-0? But we are... so kudos to JL for exceeding expectations to start the season.

    Deep breath, everyone...

In games BCS team --- So far the Valley isn't doing so well.....

There are two such games in the Valley today --
Creighton plays Iowa State, who just demolished Drake by almost 50 points
..and Evansville plays Indiana..and I don't expect a UE win there...

But here are the results of the Valley games vs. BCS teams thus far..

    Missouri State lost to Tennessee
    Wichita plays UConn
    UNI lost to Syracuse
    SIU-C lost to Illinois
    Drake lost to Iowa State
    ..and BRADLEY beat USC!

so as much as I don't want to say it... come on Valley --
1st -- stop playing nothing but cupcakes like ISU does,
and then if you get a BCS team scheduled --BEAT THEM!!

This is really ot, if you have heard of Lady Gaga and want something to watch/listen to prior to the game it's a 20 mix video, just click on the link and then put on full screen and let it run even when you think it's done don't click. Warnings and cautions should be issued..........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrO4Y...8AWcSBM5EpNrJi

Yes, I certainly thought we could be. One player does not a team make.

When that player is the center piece of your offense, and you lose him the night before your first game, you're back at square one from an offensive perspective. Everyone on the offensive side is still trying to find out their roles. I find it very encouraging that we've won these games with defense as I think in another few weeks everyone will settle in and get adjusted to their new offensive roles. To nobody's fault this team is still a long ways away from playing to its highest potential, and we're still 4-0.

Thats what I said....rather be 4-0 with ALOT of work to do vs 0-4 with ALOT of work to do. At least mentally they aren't down.....I don't THINK they are but lets hope they aren't TOO high on themselves either.

I think the type of games we've had doen NOT lend itself to getting cocky.......but they do go along way in helping to stay focued when you are down.

If this team is high on themselves right now then we have bigger problems. They are 4-0 yes but they could easily be 0-4 and they've played below avg to at best avg teams so far. If they think they've proved anything then they have another thing coming. If they let this start get to their heads then they aren't winners...they should expect better...they should expect to win.

Absolutely right! However, then the question becomes, do you think they can turn a corner and maximize that potential? Of that, I remain skeptical.

Of course I hope I'm wrong, but the beginning of this season is reminding me of the beginning of the 2008-2009 conference season. I just need more data to support the conclusion that this season will end differently than 4-6 place in the conference.

All I know is, it looks to me that everyone is giving everything they have. Win or lose, that's all you can ask.

The offense needs to catch up with the defense if we expect to keep winning games, no reason why this team cannot shoot the ball much better considering the experience and talent some of these players have, I think some of them are settling for a 3 point shot when they could take the ball in a few ft. closer and still get an open shot, a lot better percentage in shooting 15 ft. shots instead of 21 ft. shots, I expect A.W; D.D; S.M; and DSE to shoot a lot better percentage wise then what they are now which will lead to more points, also W.E. could give us at least 10 points a game if he could just quit fouling 15-20 ft. away from the basket, this team has better shooters then what they have shown so if they continue to play good defense they should begin to win by a few more points.

I thought we'd be 4-0 at this point and our first loss would come today. Hope I'm wrong! The teams we've played are not great, but decent I suppose.
I think LMU might be the best so far, and we SHOULD have beat them at home.
HOWEVER, considering DSE is not playing well, we're getting outrebounded by an avg. of 13 or so, free throw shooting is poor, I'm surprised we're 4-0! Without Sammy, don't know where we'd be.

I saw the game on Big Ten Network -- and I wouldn't say they were murdered...

They played very poorly and shot poorly, yet still found themselves ahead in the final 15 minutes of the game...
then despite an incredible cold stretch - going 8 minutes without scoring...
they got back within 10 points in the final 3 minutes...

IU's home court is a tough place to win -- and at least Evansville made Tom Crean use his starters right to the end of the game.
