Creighton up 51-39 with just over 18 minutes remaining in the game. Nice to see one of our Valley teams handling Iowa St. well!

ISU Red down 25-23 to UALR at the start of the 2nd half. That would be a bad loss for the Valley even if UALR is good.

Indiana seems like they are going to be much improved this year, at least in relation to their gastly last two seasons. They might not win too many Big 10 games, but may win enough overall for some sort of postseason consideration if they choose to accept them.

Looking like a fairly bad day for the MVC-
Evansville lead at halftime, but lost to Indiana
Creighton lost a close one at Iowa State 88-86
Illinois State faded and lost at Arkansas-Little Rock 63-54
Southern Illinois hung on at home and beat Austin Peay 72-65

Box score on ISU game shows, they shot just 22% from deep--
starters were 1-12...and in the entire game the starters scored only 13 points!!
they got 41 off the bench.

As you look at the play by play it must have been painful in those first few minutes...
falling behind 9-0, then 14-2, then not even getting their 3rd basket until 14 minutes into the game.

Blake Mishler got 2 pts, 1 reb in 14 minutes, he was the one weak spot off the bench..

I'm declaring a state of emergency for the entire Valley right now. This is a dead-honest miserable start for the entire conference. I know it's one week, but I'm officially giving everyone the right to press the panic button.

You should be concerned. The Valley was rolling in money hand over fist with the multiple bids the Valley got in the tournament a while ago, but now those contracts are going to expire I believe next season.

Each conference gets a monetary incentive, more teams more $$$. If you have the auto-bid and they are one and done, that doesn't leave a whole lot of the pie to share.

I know it's way too early to rely on these numbers, but the MVC is currently CRPI #29, with the worst SoS in the entire country.

If there's a silver lining -- then it's that the Valley is ours (or anyone else's) for the taking this year..

If we do not make some changes in our offense we will not be one of the teams contending, we have talent and enough scorers but cannot score 75 points, something has to change in the offensive sets that we run as they are not working, happy that we realized we need to play more zone and protect usom foul trouble but it is time to re-work the offense.
