    Positives

    1. Finally made an adjustment and played 2 big men at one time for more than a 2 minute time frame
    2. SM looked like he is getting closer to being 100%
    3. AW took it upon himself to look to score everytime. Someone needs to step up and pick up the scoring efforts
    4. JP looked good defensively and helped on the boards

    Negatives
    1. Either sit WE or play WE.... sitting a half only hurt the team IMO. I didnt like it. I understand JL wants to send a message to the kid but I didnt like this one bit.
    2. The stall.... 3 mins left when we are up by 8 points and just made nice run from being 9 down about 5 minutes before hand. We had the momentum. When is JL and co. going to ever get that killer instinct and blow teams out when we can??? We had an oppourtunity at that point to blow the game wide open and have them start fouling us and probably win the game by 15+. Didnt like that decision.
    3. Rebounding. Maybe JL will get the hint tomorrow night but after getting dominated on the boards tonight, especially in the 1st half, we need to get more big out there together. We dont have the Taylor Brown, Theron Wilson, Marcellus Sommerville, Lawerence Wright, etc, type of player that can be your typical big atheltic small forward that can get 6-7 rebounds a game and guard another teams 4/5 man. PLAY 2 bigs!!!
    4. AW was the ONLY guy looking to score at all in the first half. I know I have AW being agressive as a postive but other people need to be more agressive like DSE, WL, DD, etc...

Ill even put another positve out there and say I love Walt Lemon Jr!!! Although he had some chucking moments tonight.... he can get to the lane anytime he wants. He just needs to finish. Lack of effort on either end of the court is never going to be an issue for this kid either. He had 2 tremendous blocks on defense and that great hustle play on offense to track down that ball before going out of bounds and ending up getting a 3 point play opportunity was great!!! If he can ever develop a jumpshot he will no doubt be 1st team all MVC at some point in his career IMO

I noticed a possession.......where SM and DSE were on each wing at the 3 point line. SM had the ball and passed to DSE....

AFTER SM passed the ball he simply STOOD THERE......a few passes later DSE who was still in one spot got the ball and passed it back to SM....and then DSE stood there......

is that motion? 2 guys standing in one spot the whole possesion? what do you call that ? "some-motion"

turn on MSU vs SCU right now and watch what MSU does on offense...that is motion. EVERY PLAYER moves

maybe I am completely off base and that was something they were trying to do but yeah....

I realize our strength is our guards, but we need to try and get more going near the basket with interior players, especially early in the game. Prosser can score with both hands, let's try and get him a few legitimate touches inside where he can make move and perhaps command a double-down. Same goes with WE.

It may be our system but I think SM isn't moving when he doesn't absolutely need to. He looks to be pretty clearly hurting and its obvious that this team will struggle if we don't have 10+ pts from him on 2 good ankles.
"We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice"

I agree with you about Walter, would like to see us run him at the high post and get him some mid range jumpers like we do A.W.

That's great that we have another good perimeter player...but how do we expect to compete throughout the rest of our non-conference schedule and even more so in MVC play if we're getting blasted on the boards by teams like NIU?

              Insert broken record *here*.

there are team rules, and if violated - you pay the penalty -- in this case -- sit a half...
should the coach suspend team rules for the sake of the fans?
In the end - it worked --perfectly --
Will started the 2nd half with energy -- defended well, got two steals, wasn't bothered with excessive fouls, had a couple rebounds and putbacks, and energized the offense...

We held our own rebounding in the 2nd half when JL went with two big guys for a good portion of the half. Really need AT and MK to get over the hump. NIU offensive rebounds was the most concerning stat to me.

We missed a few boxouts in the 1st half...not sure who the individual was......was not our big guys...it happened right in front of JL once and it was much better after that...

All the players need to box out...

I spent a lot of the game trying to figure out why every time we missed a shot, there were only Huskies by the ball, and when they missed a shot, there were only Huskies by the ball.

I think we have a habit of watching. Hard to break, but we have to. I think JP does a good job, and WE and AT make efforts to get boards, but as JL has said the entire season, the guards need to rebound for us to be successful.

                        Positives:
Gutsy performance by seniors to pull out a W.
The future looks bright with WL and JP! They both play hard.
AW playing well on both ends
                        Started playing 2 bigs at a time...FINALLY!
Good energy on D (IMO) and locked down on Silas at end.

                        Negatives:
Horrible free throw shooting. Always seems so much easier for opponents.
Last 3 minutes - nothing new here. Could have put away NIU.
Took a long time before our 2 bigs played together (the main reason why we were getting plastered on the boards!)
Too many 3-balls - get it down to 20/game. Most were good looks, but can't rely on it - we can score in many other ways, like when DD drove and dished to DSE for an easy deuce.

I think you are going to see more 3 pt shots against zone.
