It was dead....2 minutes of energy from the crowd and other then that..YIKES. I think the crowd was smaller then Friday. 6k maybe.

The atmosphere is just dead......its very sad.

This was one game where I will admit - if I was a NIU fan I'd have been ticked at the refs...
Rucker was whistled for a lot of travelling and offensive fouls -- not sure they were all good calls......
and the fact that Silas missed most of the 1st half with fouls helped keep us in the game.

But I'd like to know if we have a play for when we need to eat the clock -- and hold the ball for 30 seconds...
because each time down the stretch that we did that, when we get to about 30 seconds.. Sammy just uncorks a wild one and it looks like we have no plan..

Also with just a few seconds left and we're inbounding...I have a suggestion...
let Dodie inbounds the ball to Sammy -- NOT the other way around!!
Geez...you know you're going to get fouled and sent to the line -- so why not get the ball into the hands of your 85% FT shooter?? Is this such a foreign concept??

OMG, in a sure sign of the apocalypse, I think I just read a comment from T with a negative tone towards BU's play tonight. I am printing his post for historical record.

I'll take the win, but I still think we made it tougher on ourselves keeping NIU in it. Some for circumstances beyond our control (the absence of TB because of health concerns), and others (taking lots of jump shots).

Even when SM and AW brought us closer and closer towards the lead late in the second half, we had to have gone inside somehow. No small task for their big line-up.

Both teams, when they got hot, got a little out of control and it showed with sloppy ball handling (though it got somewhat better in the end for BU) and some dumb fouls.

But hey, it's a win. Because of the back to back, I am not sure how much time they will have to dissect any plays from this game.

Still can't believe we won though, we were bad at the stripe.

Also, key stat for me is only 10 turnovers compared to 20 for the huskies. ballgame

And folks say a typical NBA game is bad. I could hear what the players were saying on the court (via the ESPN3.com stream). Meh.

That was mind-boggling. Most of the NIU players were grabbing their shorts and somebody decided to let them get a second wind. You could feel the momentum suddenly turn because of that decision.

Is this really you T I agree on all that you pointed out here And on Sammy's uncork wild shots, it sure looks like there is NO plan play other than to fire a wild one and hope for a foul Seems like this has been going on for ever

Did someone hijack his computer LOL I did not watch the game but I will later on tonight.

For those that can't get excited about this team then you are not a real BU fan. I get excited every year for my sports team early on in the season regardless of how I believe they will finish. I'm always pulling and rooting for BU regardless and I'll pull for these guys as long as they fight hard game in and game out.

Not much to add other than I was impressed with Andrew Warren's game tonight. Maybe I just focused on him more than usual but I thought he was more aggressive on both ends of the floor and really into the game especially in the 1st half. I hope he brings this type of attitude to every game this year.

Sammy looked better but is still hurting. It will be interesting to see how he bounces back tomorrow night.

Jordan Prosser looked much more comfortable tonight than against TAMKU.

Not DSE's best game but it wasn't due to lack of effort. He plays hard.

as Coach Stowell would say "getting out rebounded by 14 is usually just good enough to get you beat."

                            Story from BUBraves.com
PEORIA, Ill. ? Bradley turned to its senior guard combination of Sam Maniscalco and Andrew Warren to erase a 9-point deficit with less than 10 minutes to play as the Braves (2-0) rallied for a 66-63 men's basketball victory versus in-state rival Northern Illinois (0-2) Tuesday night at Carver Arena.

WE has to be on the court a minimum of 20 minutes a game for us to have a shot. JP looked good, but after that it's pretty meager in the post.

                              Bussone is truly an enigma.

SM- Thank goodness he started scoring
WL - Gonna be good, work him in gradually
                                AW - Great game
WE - Played ok, missed two more bunnies, three quick fouls
DSE - Invisible most of the night
DD - Shot was off, defense was good
JP - Looks real good on the defensive end, never gets the ball on the offensive end.
                                AT, MK - not ready

Seeing WE and JP in there at the same time was a fresh look, but, as I have said previous, we went m2m and #30 went right around JP - layup. He'll never be a 4.

Night was full of clunkiness, everything seemed off. Musical chairs was probably the most embarrassing thing I have ever seen in terms of entertainment. Somebody should get ripped for that.

Crowd was dead, but we didn't give them much to cheer about until our run. The rebounding problems seemed to really frustrate the crowd.

                                Bring back the Swing March!!!!

$1.50 for cheese for your pretzel is highway robbery.
