doesn't surprise me, since the stands were empty...
Jackie stayed out of foul trouble all night. He is young so we all know that he won't average 1-2 fouls a game. Mish will be forced to play "meaningful" minutes this year...

He's still avg over 15 mnutes per game, though how many minutes he averages isn't the point. It's that his minutes are significant.

Last night no foul trouble for Jackie and Tenn State had some quick bigs.

How many were at the Bradley game?

His average at the end of this year will be closer to the 2.8 minutes per game he averaged last year than the 21 minutes he played against SIUe (after averaging 7 and 10 mpg in his 2 seasons at ETSU). His time will drop off after Wilkins becomes eligible, and Tony Lewis gets healthy.

How is this prediction working out? I made that prediction when Kellen Thornton was still playing for ISU (2/16/10), and with him gone, Mishler should have a better chance to get playing time. But last night, despite an awful, foul-plagued game by Jackie Carmichael and equally bad games by ISUs other big men, Mishler played only 9 insignificant minutes (0 points, 2 rebounds) mostly during garbage time at the end of the game in ISUs 31 point blowout loss at home to UNLV. His average minutes-played have dropped off in the last 3 games, and it appears I was right after all.

Let's see how much he contributes in these next few non-conference games and in the MVC. I stand by my prediction that "Mishler will never play any significant amount".

Mishler played most of his minutes in the first half after JC got his second foul. He appeared to be a little overmatched by the size and speed of UNLV and played very little in the second half.

            Wrong- check the play-by-play.

Mishler played just 3 of his 9 minutes in the 1st half. He played 6 minutes after the game was a blowout in the 2nd half.

            From the Play-by-play-
            1st half:
He checked in at 13:10 replacing Carmichael who only had 1 foul at that time, and checked out at 11:41
Then he returned at 1:37 replacing John Wilkins who had 1 foul, and checked out at 0:05 for a total of 3:01 playing time in the first half.
            2nd half-
He checked in with 12:40 left in the 2nd half replacing Carmichael after he picked up his 4th foul and with the score 56-32, and played until he checked out at 6:41 of the 2nd half. He did not return after that. He played a total of 5:59 in the 2nd half.

Well if you are going to only post after games he didn't play much... someone around here will need to fill in the readers on the other games. Argue all you want about the competition but he has played significant minutes...

Sunday- Jacksonville State- 18 mins, 5-7 shooting, 10 pts, 4 rebs, 1 assist, 1 steal.

Friday- South Dakota- 14 mins, 5-7 shooting, 12 pts, 4 rebs.

Nice try, but a quick check of the box scores shows that those 2 games were blowouts by ISU, and the minutes Mishler played were not significant or meaningful minutes, as most came well after the outcome was decided.

Looking at the games that were not such laffers, against Louisiana-Monroe (a 4-point win) and Tennessee State (a 5-point win) he played just 8 and 10 minutes, his 2 lowest games in terms of playing time until last night.

Again I'll state, I am a big Mishler fan and I wish him well. I have watched him play since he was a kid. But for ISU fans to try to say I was wrong by twisting the facts is laughable.

Mish is a fine young man and I would not mind if he was wearing a Bradley jersey...remember him back in his Jr High days...we had great games against his Metamora team....

Iagree Mish is a fine young man and I have to admit I didn't think he would ever see the floor at ISU. Coach Jank seems to be able to get more out of projects then we do. He would get alot more minutes if he was wearing a Bu jersey but we never did give him an offer.Ala Lucas O'Rear never heard from us according to his Dad.

Wow just reading this tread and seeing the names:

                      Tennessee State
                      Jacksonville State
                      South Dakota State
                      Lousiana Monroe

ISU must really be big time proud of what they have scheduled. Just pathetic. I know that drum has been beaten to death but seeing those schools in writing again just makes me laugh and sad to know a Valley school thinks it is acceptable to year after year to put that type of garbage out infront of its fans.

I agree give him a chance -- at least he's made it to a level many said he'd never make -- he's on schoalrship at a D-I, and it's not too low of a D-I...

Anyway -- coachdude....remember that 8th grade supersectional championship game that YOU coached....when a certain local group of kids from a far smaller school won a trip to STATE, playing Blake and his Metamora Junior High team and laid their only two defeats on them...once in the regular season, then again in the Super-Final??
I seem to recall a few PCS kids having their best games ever that night and Blake Mishler, who was averaging about 30 ppg as a 6-6 8th grader, was held scoreless!

I will man up and admit I was wrong. I must have lost interest in the second half. Now I would like to revisit your statement and I'll have to go off memory because things disappear here often, "That's ridiculous, Egolf's brother has never worked at Bradley" Ben Egolf Grants and Restricted Funds Analyst-Bradley Controller's Office Is this someone else? Sorry to change the subject but wanted to clarify.

probably is his bro -- who moved to Peoria and applied for the job 3 years after Will was already here....so you suggesting it's part of a payback for an obscure recruit who basically came to BU with no other offers??

Its the freaking wild west as of yesterday. Who cares if it is a brother working, a momma getting a house and car or daddy getting paid. As long as son or brother has no knowledge no problem.
