One other late night game last night was Steve Lavin's first game back in D-I coaching...
There's been tons of press, mostly hype about how well Lavin is going to do given that he's already landed some outstanding talent...

After whalloping their only exhibition opponent, NAIA Westmont, 100-42 in front of a dismal 2700 people,
they headed to St. Mary's for late ESPN game and came away with a 76-71 loss......

Here's a nice picture of San Diego's Darian Norris, #0, who had 10 pts last night to go with 13 in their opener..
and is shooting 50% overall and 43% from 3-pt range thus far..
He is Sad Diego's leading scorer and leading FT shooter

        Here's another.....

SEMO lost to FGSU but one of SEMO's players, an ex-BU rceruit Leon Powell continues to look awesome with 26 pts on 12-16, 13 rebounds...we could use him!

Texas Tech out of the Big 12 loses to North Texas!! 92-83
#16 Butler loses to Louisville 88-73 - Kyle Kuric played two whole minutes -- shoulda come to BU

DePaul loses 69-64 to Western Carolina ending their win streak at one

Ariz. State at New Mexico -- ASU down 13 pts in 1st half Brandon Dunson & Corey Hawkins not in the game yet..

          Tennessee struggling w/ Belmont

Wake Forest gets hammered by VCU 90-69

North Texas could be dangerous in March.

Wake Forest getting run out of the building by VCU (actually a good team) comes on the heels of them getting run out of their own building by freakin' Stetson last week. The wheels are completely off that wagon.

Corey Hawkins played 4 minutes but Brandon Dunson didn't get in the game -- so now neither one can redshirt -- since Brandon burned his RS year with the transfer from Chattanooga to SIUE.

Remember when Arizona State was being lauded for landing such a great recruiting class that included Corey, Dunson, Kyle Cain, etc..and was getting mentions in the rankings (CHN has them at #38 )??
Unfortunately - last night they weren't even in this game after the first few minutes..with New Mexico holding a double digit lead much of the rest of the way.

I still don't understand why we ran Norris off and kept McCain.

Norris was missing the west coast - got the impression he didn't like the city of Peoria after a while.
EM had a good freshman year and looked to be a good PG for the future for BU.

we didn't run DN off -- he wanted to be a PG and wasn't seeing it happen at BU

That is what I am saying he was going to have to sit behind McCain.

McCain really did have good potential -- but he failed to utilize his talents
