After we withstood the wind and sun in the first half, I had high hopes for that second half, until Gaul got the red card. To be down a man for 35+ minutes and to not only keep the tie, but to actually challenge SIUE defensively, now that was pretty amazing. What's more amazing is that this is a team that has only 2 seniors, one of which is a backup goalkeeper, and is pretty much 2/3's or so underclassmen. Congratulations guys, let's make some noise in the tourney! This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Congratulations Guys! Lets gets some wins in the NCAA tourney.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Regarding our soccer team, Creighton usually gets more of the national press in the regular season, but DeRose "out Creighton'ed Creighton" by getting his teams prepared for the Valley tourney throughout the year, just like Dana Altman did during his tenure coaching the Creighton men's basketball team. And because of this, our soccer team has a knack for peaking at the right time by pulling off upsets late in the season and winning the MVC tourney more often than not. We may not have the best record during the Valley regular season most years, but we seem to be the most dangerous team come postseason, and that says something about coaching, and our player's tenacity and drive which in turn has made Bradley one of the best programs in the Valley and one of the most consistent programs in the country.
Again, hope to see this rub off on our basketball team this year, particularly by winning in St. Louis.

Ouch, Is that the next Tourney game or regular season game next season? Announcers said that Gaul had the team lead in goals. Need him to play in the Tourney.

Anyone know the attendance numbers? and what Shea can hold?... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

1,039.
On Wikipedia, there have been matches against MLS teams at Shea and it said that attendance was very near 4,000.
Not a bad turn-out when you consider da Bears were on.

Gaul will miss the first NCAA Tourney game. The projected bracket on NCAA website showed BU at Tulsa on Thursday with the winner advancing to play at Indiana on Sunday."How do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal, and you have to be willing to work for it." - Jim Valvano
