CU's cover was a bit thin last year anyway, and I think a new coaching philosophy and a younger team will cause some growing pains for this team. Then again, I won't judge a team based on one game and make a prediction for number of wins for the same reason I'm holding off doing that for Bradley. But still a bit of concern has to be on the minds of the Creighton players after this game.

I would have to think many of the preseason picks were based upon Creighton adding Greg Echinque for the conference slate which should make them much better. With that said, McDermott's mess left Iowa State with three returning players and ISU had to build a team this spring and Iowa State just beat NAU 78-64 while leading big the whole game and Alabama State 75-47. Creighton beat NAU by 4 and Bama State by 14. Comparative scores mean nothing, but the ISU-Creighton game next Sunday should be interesting as ISU already seems to be playing better, with less talent and a brand new coach with no experience, this year, than we ever did last year under McDermott's guidance. But this ISU team will not win 15 games IMO and if ISU beats Creighton, the Jays fans should be very, very worried.

That's very interesting! Definitely a game to keep an eye on. If Creighton loses this one, then 3rd or 4th place should be up for grabs this year.

Ouch -- the Sycamore fans were railing against their getting ranked in the preseason behind 5-6 other teams -- especially ISU & Bradley!!
Now they've lost two in a row to teams they should BEAT!!

Losing to Loyola at Loyola is one thing. Losing on a neutral site to a lousy Eastern Kentucky team in overtime is quite another!

I think it is now safe to say that this is the first BAD loss of the year in the Valley, which does not bode well for the conference if the Sycamores are this bad! We have NO excuses to not sweep these guys.

Third or fourth place may be up for grabs, but it has nothing to do with the outcome of CU-ISU. We will be a completely different team once Echinique becomes available. Sadly, that doesn't happen until 12/18.
