What a great game and congrats Braves...

that red card was bogus -- it was a bad play on Gaul's part but not deserving of a red card..there was absolutely NO QUESTION that there was no intent to injure nor malicious play -- just good aggressive soccer...
Glad BU pulled it out -- as it reminded me of 2002 when BU had the lead over #2 ranked (nationally) SWMS and the refs stole the game from Bradley with repeated cards and ejections

BU's goalie is not that bad of a player...

          More coverage...
PEORIA, Ill. ? After 110 minutes of scoreless soccer could not determine a champion, host and No. 5 seed Bradley (11-8-3) claimed the 2010 State Farm MVC Men's Soccer Championship in a penalty kick shootout, 4-3, against No. seed SIU Edwardsville (10-5-4) Sunday afternoon at Shea Stadium.

Yeah...IMO the red card was completely uncalled for.....No way there was any intent behind that.

Agreed. Pretty hard to have malicious intent when he hit the ball first...

Yeah and the referee was going to let the play continue on after the goalie made the save. Then when the goalie stayed down he whistled it dead, and broke up the skirmish between the players. He then turned to Gaul and showed the red.

I just can't believe you as a ref make that decision 84 minutes in unless you are positive its purposeful..

But I dont know soccer rules all that well
