  • Walter Lemon Jr....

I know its just the 1st game @ Carver Arena but WL said he hasn't played in front of a crowd that big before and handled it very well IMO....Welcome to Bradley Walter! Leading the Braves in scoring with 16 pts and 7 rbs if I heard Snell right on the postgame! Most pts by a Fr. since Phillip Gilberts 22 in 2000!

Snell kept saying he thinks it's the first time a freshman led in scoring in the first game since like way back. Gilbert's 22 mighta been outdone by Robinson when they played at USC?

Not only can Walter score but he is a great defender and rebounder.

Snell said he talked to Carl Maniscalco who transfered to BU and in his 1st game Mitchell Anderson was the leading scorer, but he wasn't sure if anyone did it since...Bobby Parker will provide an answer before its all said and done!

Smooth, fluid, quick, and not afraid to bang down low for boards. Don't know what kind of a mid-range game he's got, but the young man can play the game. I came in to Carver tonight totally deflated about TB, somewhat less deflated after seeing WL tear it up.

If he averages around 10 ppg's in November with good d and low turnovers that's a whole lot more than anyone would have expected from a freshman.

First time I saw him play and what a player. My only question is if he has a jump shot? He has the speed, athletic ability and confidence to be a very special player. We picked up a very good player and our back court is set for the next few years between him and DSE.

BTW..SM was playing at 75%. I wonder if he played and gutted it out because of TB.

WL was great last night. Made a ton of nice moves to the hoop. Smooth is the word that came to mind when I was watching him.

Does WL remind you of anyone? My first comparison is Leonard Houston who was such a part of Drake's big season a couple of year's ago. Both 6-3, lefthanded, and can rebound, get to the basket, and be on the receiving end of an alley-oop slam.

He's going to be fun to watch. Welcome to BU, Walter!

I didn't go to the game last night, but from what I have seen from the scrimmage and the Quincy game, WL needs to revamp his outside shot. JL and JC should be able to help him with that!

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Heck, he could probably bring home the bacon too!! Maybe get the milk...a loaf of bread!!! He had a great game for a freshman, can't wait to see him develop and get better!!

If there is one thing I feel confident in JL teaching and JC coaching. It's a jumpshot.

Of course that assumes the student can translate good teaching to performance.

Great coaching helps, but at the end of the day, talent wins.

From what Walt said in the postgame was JL told him to drive like CR or DSE last year so he didn't try to take too-many jump shots....sounds like he is the biggest gym rat on the team so he will improve everything!

Then why are people so critical of JL coaching bigs? lol
