For those in the know medically... Is there a chance this is it for taylor as a basketball player? I hope not but that was kinda what the bulls said about curry so I'm worried..
Could he appeal this year given that it is a medical condition?
I can't imagine that the NCAA would deny him his Jr. year for an issue like this, but crazier things have happened. I think the fact that SS got his sixth year of eligibility passed it bodes well.
Hang tough TB! I'm sure you'll be back & impressing the NBA scouts before you know it!
We need to face one more reality. If this turns out to be a serious condition, TB may not be able to play ball again. If worse came to worst, hopefully he would be able to undergo a procedure which would allow him to play again, but you never know. Remember the saga with the Woodruff player named Knapp at Northwestern in the mid-1990's?
I am very proud of the BU medical staff. Proactively examining athletes should be the new standard, and could prevent future incidents such as what happened to Phil Kaiser. I hope all schools start doing this type of medical exam with all players.
On the bright side for the bball team, for those of you who want Bradley to "go big," this is the year. Our new starting lineup will likely the tallest in the Valley outside of Omaha at 6'9, 6'9, 6'6, 6'3, 6'3 (and/or 6'0 once SM gets back). That is about the biggest BU starting lineup I can ever remember.

There have been cases where doctors refused to clear the kids, and they were not allowed to play. Peoria's Nick Knapp was never cleared by doctors at Northwestern (though Knapp did eventually play at Northeastern Illinois and Ashland).
if you read the release -- it is clear that as a result of the sudden death of the BU baseball player--
they clearly must have done some extra testing on everyone else -- and found something that in all likelihood would have never been found otherwise..
something that is clearly a threat but would NOT have been known unless our folks at BU go the extra mile and do the extra testing that ordinarily wouldn't have been done....
So -- KUDOS to them.......something actually quite good might have come out of this...because can you imagine had TB suffered a serious issue from an unknown condition??
Agree 100% This is the way I expect my alma mater to conduct its business, even if that puts us at a competitive disadvantage aginst the win-mills in BCS conferences.
No number of wins could outweigh the loss of a young life, or even a SMALL RISK of such a loss. I'm proud to be a Bradley alum tonight, and I hope (but doubt) that all D-I institutions would follow Bradley's example. In fact, if sports media outlets had their priorities in order, this would be a huge (positive) story.
I know this is terrible for TB, but it's one of the most refreshing developments I've seen in a long time in college athletics.
Keep your head up Taylor...Although you feel disappointed right now for yourself and your teammates, you will just have to gather together your inner strength and face this issue head on. Trust me..it will make you a stronger person in life to help overcome hardships that may lay ahead of you. Stay focused and postive, never give up, and you will succeed in your dreams you desire even if they do not happen as quickly as you may like.
This is just so sad for TB. I know he really worked hard over the summer and had seemed to be really focused on doing the right thing. Stay strong and positive TB! Rely on your faith, family and teammates and everything will work out.
I'm confident (and hopeful) that BU will be OK without TB this year. I really think certain players will step up and fill the void -- Here's your big chance Andrew Warren.
First and for most, my thoughts and prayers go out to TB and the Brown family There is NO PRICE or replacement for a life If there is NO MORE BB for TB and as long as he can enjoy life, thats a good thing and all that matters
Second, high 5's to the people at BU to follow up after the tragic death of one of their student athlete's and as a precaution, to have the check ups on all their student athletes This just may have saved another tragic incident Hopefully this will become a standard PRO to Call
TB already had a redshirt year at a juco, this years would be more of a SS deal in the 5 years to play 4 theory..
feel horrible for TB. My prayers are with him. Keep your head up Taylor, you are young and have your while life ahead of you. Surely he will get this year back ala singh rule. He will be even better next year. Somebody will just have to step UP.
So without Taylor is it looking like 6th or worse?
Gloom and doom maybe but I have very low expectations now
A real downer to start the year
Glass 1/2 full for you! Let's see how it all plays out.
This is just a game and let's count our blessing that this was caught before something terrible could have happened. The most important each one of us have is our health. Let's hope he can continue his athletic endeavor but if not he's still here and has a lifetime in front of him.
I have no idea why anyone is making this about them and projecting their own frustration on this team or any individual. It is what it is and that is just how life treats thing. I can only imagine the day BU really does have lady luck go their way. It will be all that much sweeter.

I feel like I just got punched in the stomach. My excitement level has been slowly building all week. Anxious at work today to watch game tonight. Just sat down at the computer to renew my braves tv yearly plan and decided to check bradleyfans one last time and saw this headline for the first time. Wow...just totally deflated. I echo all the statements about being happy he is safe, but, that being said, he was our best player. Enthusiasm just crushed. Best rebounder, most explosive offensive threat, good defender, and the kind of player who really gets the crowd going with his explosiveness. This sucks. There's not much else to say, this just really really sucks. I feel so bad for TB, hes got to be really really disappointed. I sure hope this turns out to be nothing and he can be back next year. Not for our sake, but for his. He could earn a nice living playing bball somewhere someday and I hope he gets back on the court.
I just know TB was going to be a monster for us this year. That said, get well soon TB and come back next year for one last year and then onto the NBA baby!!! You can do it.
