Oh yeah, this will be at the new BU on campus. So it pretty much looks like AT will be cheering again from the sidelines this year.

BU up 55-45 with under 7 left. BU was up by 12 just a moment ago, which was their biggest lead of the night.

Some positives so far:

Great defense, even if it's against a D-II team.
Simms-Edwards is having a great game.
Having Dodie Dunson back helps.
Good student crowd that seems to be into the game. The crowd in general sounds pretty loud tonight.
Team seems to be adjusting without TB.

The only real negative so far is shooting. BU missing a lot of wide open three's and layups again. Some sloppy play with turnovers, but not terrible. Typical of the first game of the season.

Obviously BU needs to step up their offensive effort a bit against Northern Illinois next week. But still some opportunites to fatten up against some weaker low to mid-majors before playing USC and TCU later this month.

BU now up 58-45 with 4:43 to go.

BU just 3 for 17 on three's tonight! Gotta get that straightened out before their slew of games next week.

BU wins 66-55. Things got a bit sloppy towards the end with some turnovers, and two three's by Kingsville. Obviously this type of casual play cost them big time last year, so this is something the team still needs to work on before our level of competition gets more difficult. Still though, the game was never really in doubt, so chalk up the last few minutes to a lack of urgency.

Otherwise, as stated above, great defense and some of our younger players stepping up really helped our team look a lot better than they did against Quincy. So hopefully BU will make some positives out of an adverse situation this year.

Observations from tonight's game:

1. WL is awesome!
2. This team should still be ok this year with a few adjustments.
3. Defense looked good for an opener!
4. WE finally started to come on at the end, we need him to rebound this year!
5. SM obviously isn't 100%, but good passing and good to see him out there.
6. It was nice to see DD back and playing well.
7. I feel like if Milos could just make one 3, he would get going.
8. Hope JE returns strong, I think he will mean more to this team than most people think.
9. DSE looked really good, got to cut down the turnovers, but he will be good this year.
10. I like Prosser a lot! Nice to see a post man play in the post! Some work on footwork is needed, but he will be good.
11. We got a win, good start, but we only did what we needed to. We need to keep improving, and let's keep it rolling Braves!

Oh and one more, I thought AW played well on both ends tonight, we need him to rebound now! The team really seemed like they played as a team, no one was playing for stats, which seemed like a problem and times last year. It didn't seem like they cared who scored as long as the Braves scored, good to see that.

As always, the cheerleaders looked good.

I liked AT in his limited minutes. Quick down the floor and asked to do a lot. Guard a guard outside the 3 point line and set screens outside the 3 point line and then run to the basket. He was a one man show and when he was in the game we took our biggest lead. Just saying.. more PT.

Will had a good second half, I think he's going to have a good 10 foot shot this season if he gets passed the ball. Saw him use his added weight to push for position and get a rebound.

Really liked the look of Walt, first time I've seen him. First freshman to lead the team in scoring in his first game since Mitchell Anderson per DS.

Good to see Sam playing. The guards played well.

Don't like the 4 guard offense. It's not going to work against bigger teams.

We're 1-0.
