I agree with you. Quality is not so much not important to me, its just I have to watch my Braves, so I have to buy whatever is offered. So B4L, while I agree like you I'll buy it no matter what just to watch my Braves, I don't think it's that quality is not important to us. We just have to watch!

I think I might have solved my problem another way. We'll see.

Look it up on line. If someone can get the game in Peoria they can then transfer the game with slingbox online to any computer they want. Or was it the friend part that was Greek!

It's interesting, and I didn't realize this until just now, but 6 games that are not already on ESPN2/ESPNU will be on ESPN3.com for Bradley this year. This includes the NIU game. Between ESPN3.com, ESPN2, and FSN Midwest a lot of the games are already covered. By my count looking back and forth between ESPN's site and our site, all but 4 conference games are covered by either MVC-TV, ESPN360.com, or an ESPN channel. One of those 4 is the wild card game the 26th of February which could be picked up by MVC-TV.

I will still buy the package because I have to see all the games, and most of the non-con will only be on BTV, but still it will be interesting to see the first two games since one will be our streaming and the other ESPN's. Now obviously I don't expect to be as good as ESPN, but it should at least be in the ballpark.

Why? Sorry I have higher expectations because in reality the technology is there to make it happen. You either know what you are doing or you do not. There's a few poster on here who could put together a platform that could deliver a high quality product.

BUfan14 - can you give us which BU games are on ESPN3.com?
I noticed that indeed the NIU - BU game is on, but couldn't see beyond a few weeks.
Is there a chance this game will be blacked out? Last time I tried to access a game, it was. But maybe that's because it was regionally covered on ABC. (??)

ESPN has the full 2024-25 Bradley Braves Regular Season NCAAM schedule. Includes game times, TV listings and ticket information for all Braves games.

They are on that page above. NIU, Duke, SIU (home), UNI (away), Creighton (away), Evansville (away), Wichita State (away), and Creighton (home) are all on ESPN3.com

The Wichita State game and Duke are already on ESPN 2. So 8 total on EPSN360.com, 6 of which are not on ESPN2.

SFP-Well I don't know much about that stuff, but if we have the technology then I guess I do expect that. I just assumed Bradley doesn't have the technology ESPN does, but I could be wrong.

ESPN3.com's delivery system is different than BU's.

ESPN3 broadcasts are produced the same as a television game and sent via satellite to their production hub and then sent out to the web.

BU and other schools are originating their own streams using the infrastructure in their arena - which generally have bandwidth limitations.

The equipment is in place to produce a quality image, the limiting factor is the amount of data that can come out of Carver (and the streaming interface, in some instances).

I imagine the product coming out of the Renaissance Arena will be superior...unless Carver allocates more bandwidth and they stream at a higher bitrate.

You are spot on if they have the capacity within their server to stream it correctly. They could stream it to a central location using WAN acceleration technology and then send it out from a Data Center with greater bandwidth. Who cares if the stream is behind by a few minutes as long as it is clear. What type of pipe would be needed to do it correctly? I would bet a T-1 would be suffice if they could dedicate the resources to it. What else would CC need it for?
