Brown will make a world of difference. Slide him to the 3/4 and put Prosser at the 5 with Egolf at the 4 and NOT shooting anything beyond a 15fter. Combine that with Warren/DD/DSE That is good length and size and should compete both rebounding but interior defense. Thats not even assuming the health of Maniscalco. I am just curious where minutes for Eastman come from.

      I like a lineup of:
      DSE
      A.Warren
      T.Brown
      W.Egolf
      J.Prosser
of course Maniscalco goes in when healthy, Dunson and Lemon get minutes at the guard position, Eastman can spell Taylor at small forward, that is a good rotation of 9 and I still think A.Davis could give us better minutes then A.T. which in turn will get him better prepared down the road.

I believe it is not important in college basketball with a timeout every 4 minutes to have more then 8 or 9 players in a rotation.

I still think our 9 players from DSE to Egolf are quality and there arent minutes available for much more, Eastman seems like an ok player but I just can not see where his minutes would contribute more then the other 9 you listed. But that is why they practice and hopefully the best play the most minutes and earn those minutes with consistant hard nosed play.

          upper classmen

IMO I think JL was talking about Milos and Will when he says different agenda from upper classmen! I think it is time for both of these guys to step and make a difference.. Athony IMHO is a bust a wasted schollie he did not show any improvement at all during the scrimmage or the exhibition.. Jake looked pretty bad on defense but did crash the boards.. So who do all you experts think he was talking about?

I do seem to recall JL taking one for the team following many BU losses during his career. The classic "This one's on me" post game conference speach.

I think he is to the point where he isn't going to take it anymore from upper class players who should play better defense and rebound.

I have no problem with his substitutions in an exhibition game. He needs to see if his bigs can play and what they can do before it is primetime. There wasn't a problem with BU's offense in this game, but with defense and rebounding. I am sure he figured at the time these wouldn't suffer by going big.

              Milos is an underclassman.
AW and DD are the other upperclassmen, but DD was known for D and translating that passion to CR last year...

My thoughts exactly. People on here say we need to play these guys more to get them experience and then when we do play them in a meaningless exhibition game and they don't play as good as some think they should people get all bent out of shape.
If this was a regular season game or more importantly a conf game then I could see getting all upset.

Wait one, friend Lets not let this subbing mistake go to underscoring playing BIG First why make the sub at all It was a momentum killer (The one mistake JL, in my opinion makes way to much) Second, why put two bench players (your 4 and 5 among the bigs) in together (one in his second year and the other, well). All I can say it was a exhibition game and at that point Jimmy wasn't thinking win but wanted to see how they would respond! Especially his 6'11, 4th year player As stated by many who saw the game, the game was lost by poor D and a lot of their points came from our guards leaving or losing their man Its not just about the most talented, hardest workers, who's big or who's small but what combination of players can play together and get the job done I'm hopefull we will know real soon

Well the 6'8" guy I was mentioning is NOT Prosser...

                    Prosser did just fine...

I never said anything about JP except if he can't play quality minutes then we are in trouble because our other bigs coming off the bench still are just that, bench players. WE will need someone to back him up. If anyone believes WE will play the 4 with JP at the 5 then keep dreaming. We will need WE and JP to play nothing but the 5. TB will need to play huge minutes and keep out of trouble.

I agree with all the 4 min. and regular timeouts you get that you could get away with an 8 man rotation, the right combination could get you a good enough cushion in 7-8 of the games that you could work 2 more p[layers in at the end, I hate it when we sub multiple players in especially when the guys on the floor are on a good run.

JL keeps preaching defense, defense, defense for the last million years, however 2 seasons ago, he visited the Phoenix Sun's camp and partially adopted their offense. As we all know, the Phoenix Suns are all about Offense and very little D. Very similar to how our seasons have been these last 2 years and seems like again this year. Perhaps JL should go visit the Spurs or Boston.

Me too. Can't wait until Friday, it will be the first look at this seasons team for those of us living away from Peoria. Hope they put on a good show! I watched the Illini game and this was fun, about three minutes in BW hollers "get the ball inside", at least I think that's what he said, because they were bricking threes and then Paul shortly turns it around and hits 5 threes in a row, he left him in the game
