I don't know, but I did my part. I'm still trying to figure out where all the students were. I mean....it is their team, it was free, and it was on-campus.

Actually, it was not free for me (even though on the website it said it was free, I paid a dollar). And there were students there, in fact I'd say more than the red-white scrimmage.

This has always been a problem for the students. Back when I went to BU in mid 90's, student attendance wasn't great but it was probably double or triple what it is now. There was the "molin-army" that they had for a while that was kinda popular but now-a-days, the student support is pretty bad. Agreed.

I stand corrected. But that makes the point even more strongly. Why do they refuse to be progressive? If they want to make it a more attractive atmosphere to younger people, you gotta start somewhere, sometime. Not saying fast-forwarding the playlist 20 years or more will draw hordes of younger people to the games, but its gotta go through the administration's mind that the "bluehairs" numbers will be dwindling the next 5, 10, 15 years and who is going to be left? Just saying...

To me, I do not think Bradley makes it a big deal to sell the athletics teams. I realize BU's mission is education first, but there is more to a school than just the books, or in this case, Greek life.

Well technically, it's a pretty good possibility that Les will be canned if he doesn't produce this season. Tonight's loss just put him on the hottest of all hot seats in the Valley. The pressures really on now.

Just be patient...we have the new facilities now and everything will be OK in about 2-3 years when we can get in JL's REAL recruits.

And it's not like the students do not follow sports. It's tough for a regional private school like Bradley to create widespread appeal for its sports programs compared to say, Illinois. 9/10 Bradley kids don't pick the school based on its basketball team.

HMMM why would we want a much louder, more intimidating, albeit smaller atmosphere when we could have 11,000 that sound like the 1500 that are attending the epic 7-10 Thursday night matchup in St. Lou?

School support for our sports teams is apathetic at best. Since many of the students are from Chicagoland, it makes sense there is more talk about the Bears, Cubs, etc.

I would say it's because there are more season tickets accounted for than the "more intimidating" on-campus facility is capable of holding.

Because they want the program to be accessible to as many people as possible. I saw plenty of empty seats, some rows had maybe one person it. And there were empty chairs in the PSO section as well...

And it was loud. I loved when Vroman basically just smiled and went along with the Red Sea chanting "Hey" and then one of them (Warren) made a three.

I'm just saying....the price is right and it's more "convenient" than a game all the way downtown. Obviously, the student support (at least most of the students) isn't there no matter what.

I didn't mind that too much. What I think we need is a school song that folks can sing too, not just mindlessly clap to the rhythm.

I realize this might get this post, this thread, and/or me deleted, but...

The students would be there if BU was really good. For better or worse Bradley is a middle of the road team in a mid-level conference. And I'm a life long Bradley fan who loves the Valley and HATES HATES HATES Illinois, the Big Ten and BCS conferences in general. But it's the truth.

Plus it was a game that doesn't count, against Quincy, without SM and TB even dressing. And it's Saturday Night for a college kid...Cmon...Im 32 and had to be talked into going to this game, and I've seen the Braves in each Valley town except Omaha and Evansville, so I'm no fairweather fan...

Here is what would have made my whole night go from horrible to ok. If Jim would have gotten on the radio and said "Look, the coaches are working hard. The players are working hard. It didn't show tonight. So I am going to have to do a better job. I am going to have to work harder." Is it too much to ask for a little humility instead of ALWAYS blaming the players? Just be accountable. They aren't the ones getting paid for their performances....at least i hope not.
