  • Bradley Soccer Pulls Monster Upset over Top 10 Ranked team!

OMAHA, Neb. ? Freshman midfielder Aodhan Quinn (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel H.S.) scored the game-winner in the 27th minute and fellow freshman Brian Billings (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattuck-St.Mary's School) made all seven of his saves in the second half, leading Bradley (9-9-2, 3-3-1 MVC) to a 2-1 Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer victory at #10 Creighton (12-4-1, 5-1-1 MVC) Saturday afternoon at Morrison Stadium.

Men's soccer out-shoots Bradley 18-0 in the second half, but falls on Senior Day for the first time since 2002.

Bradley upsets #10 ranked Creighton 2-1..
Congrats to Coach Derose and the Braves!!

I think it's funny how Bradley soccer pulled off the upset against TOP 10 ranked Creighton, ensuring a spot in the postseason MVC tournament against Drake and giving themselves a chance to reach the NCAA's, and yet there isn't one single congratulatory comment or acknowledgment for the soccer team. We're more concerned about a basketball game that doesn't matter than our soccer team beating a top 10 team in the nation.

Our MBB team is 0-0, along with everyone else in the valley. Our soccer team is now heading to postseason play after beating Creighton, who was previously undefeated in conference play. How about a little support?
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Congratulations Bradley soccer on a terrific upset! You are now 9-9-2 Overall and 3-3-1 MVC..... Mediocre.

You're right bugregshu, we should be more congratulatory on their fantastic victory...... but we've also spared them our harsh tongue during these past few very mediocre (that's generous) seasons....... And I love BU soccer.

Well that's similar to our men's basketball team beating then ranked Illinois and UNI last year. All that accomplished was keeping our record just above .500 in an otherwise mediocre season.

Now, that said, to beat a ranked team is a great thing no matter what the record is. You will always remember these types of games as a high point in an otherwise average year. And it shows that a team has the potential to beat anyone, just that they are probably not consistent and/or deep enough to do it on a regular basis.

In regards to the soccer team though, hopefully this leads to a great MVC tournament and the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. At the very least this can be something to use as a building block towards a better season next year. And let's not forget that this team is only three years removed form their sensational run in 2007. There's no reason why this team can't challange for a spot in the tournament next year if they fail to win the MVC tourney this year. Good luck to the Braves and let's hope they take this momentum and turn it into an NCAA tourney bid!

I agree with you Bravesfan. This is a very young team with some good players. It may be the biggest and most physical team that BU soccer has ever had. I expect big things from them over the next few years.

it is probably because no one cares about our soccer program?
