Which would be a totally pointless exhibition game.
There's always something we can experiment with in 40 minutes using the guys that will actually produce this year.
No reason why any walk-on should see the court this season unless we're up by a significant margin late in the 2nd half. I think last year's game at Evansville was one of those situations.
If we're up big, we should give guys like MK, AD, WL more minutes.

hmmmmm we should win by how many? match SIU?

Come on people...what we win by in this game is IRRELEVANT! (sp)

Its a practice game....if we win by 25+ so what...if we win by 10+ so what...if we win by 5 so what...what matters here is to get some play against someone other than ourselves...and prepare the team for real games...try out different lineups (GO BIG!) and try defense and offensive sets...get some chemistry and see who is BUYING IN!

So if we win 71-70, you'd be o.k. with that???
        Not me - sorry!
That's an indicator that we're way too sloppy at this point, we are too lax defensively, our bench players are suspect, and we're not ready to play well for our 1st game. Just my opinion.

I realize this is only an exb. game but it would be nice to send a message to everyone that we are very good by winning this one by 25 to 30.

You don't know me well...but yeh I am pretty much ok with whatever happens

Really though...to say we should match or beat SIU's margin is the furthest thing from my mind...

I wanna see our guys play someone else instead of matching up against each other and see how we mesh...to me there are some givens:

            1. SM ankle problem...but he is solid
            2. AW is AW and is solid
            3. DD is DD and no worries there
            4. DSE ...solid solid solid
            5. JE...love that kid...he plays so smart...

non givens whats up and what I am looking at:

            1. WE...hearing he is vastly improved and despite this ankle issue..should be solid
            2. JP...if you pay attention to anything i have written about him..he is a special player for me..and I think he will be a TON...but again this is not a given
            3. AT....heard he is playing bigger and touger...it was difficult vs JP so lets see what he has vs Quincy
            4. TB...the biggest concern I have...can he focus and play to his potential...

So I want to see in this PRACTICE game....some of these "non given" things get clearer and, NO I do not care what the score is....

When point spread is a tie breaker I'll care about scores...

Ditto...the point spread in an exhibition game is irrelevant. The BU coaches will not be treating this game like a regular season game. They should be focused on trying different combinations of players and identifying areas for improvement.

The video will be the most valuable thing to come out of this game.

I want to see the Braves come out, play well and set a style for what they will do the remainder of the season. If Coach Les wants to experiment with different combinations, see what works, all fine and good. But I also want to see BU take the victory in the end.

Need I remind everyone what happened in one of our exhibition games in 2008?

I'd usually agree that the point of exhibitions is to try new lineups and working out the jitters for the new guys.

However, this year I think the fan base needs a thrashing to pep them up. The last time these guys played, they got embarassed down in St. Louis and called off the rest of the season. I want to see them fired up to be back in front of the fans and band. It's time to show that this isn't last year's team. A close ballgame doesn't show that.

A few things I want to take away from the exhibition.

                      1) how attentive we are to defense and more specifically rebounding.

                      2) how much of an impact Jordan Prosser has.

I really think Prosser and Egolf playing together is going to be very important for this team. Prossers ceiling is unlimited and I want to see how much of an impact he makes, specifically on the boards.

                      3) if we make a concerned effort to put the ball on the block on offense, or are we going to be a settle for jump shots team.

I think you're going to be disappointed. This isn't the conference or even season opener, and I would hope that the staff isn't going into this game focused on this being an oppurtunity to get the fan base excited for this season. If that's a by-product of the game then that's great, but this is an exhibition and I hope to see a bunch of different lineup combinations which will invariably lead to some sloppy play. But that's ok because this is only an exhibition and nothing to get too high or too low over.

With that said there are things that I'm looking forward to seeing such as the rumored improvement of our bigs and a strong defensive/rebounding effort.

Agreed on all We better see a combination of big's in the the game at the same time with Brown by JL or I will know we will finish middle of the pack again Come on Jimmy, don't fell the bench with Bigs, forget that small ball Get it inside and stop the launching of bombs Unless you have a way of putting JC in the game

This is our last tuneup before our 1st regular season game so I think the players should be challenged as far as how good are they at this time of the season and show everyone how much better they are then Quincy at this time.
If you don"t challenge them and give them what your expectations are now then you are wasting the opportunity as this is a dress rehearsal for the players, coaches and the fans of what to expect in the coming games.

The BU women play their second and final exhibition game Saturday, Nov. 6 at 2:05 pm against Washington University of St. Louis, MO.
Defending NCAA Division III national champion Washington (Mo.) will visit Renaissance Coliseum Saturday, as the Bradley women's basketball team wraps up the exhibition season with a 2:05 p.m. game against the Bears. The Braves posted a 90-80 victory against Quincy Monday night in the exhibition opener for both teams.

This should be a good game. Washington U. is the defending NCAA Division III national champion, and return 14 letterwinners from last year's national championship team. They are ranked #4 in the country in the D3 preseason poll.

Good tickets are available, and parking is free!
