  • Question about MVC-TV Broadcasts

    Hey guys,

I noticed that the MVFC telecasts on CSN Chicago/FS Midwest were televised in high-definition, and was wondering if the basketball telecasts will be in high-def as well. I assume it makes a difference that home games televised will be in HD with the new replay cameras, but I am not exactly sure.

    Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that all live sports broadcasts on those 2 stations are in HD. I don't think we'll be seeing HD on WTVP but we'll see.

I'd be suprised if they were HD actually. Not that the channels don't support them, but that they'll have to have HD camera's there, and I haven't seen to many regional FSN broadcasts in HD. I easily could be wrong, but that's my two cents.

In my opinion, this is an issue the league needs to address. I believe that valley fans will certainly watch these games if they are not in HD, but other "casual" college bb fans will not.

We need to get our games on FoxSports and ESPN networks in HD. I remember watching games on certain nights in much lesser conferences broadcast in HD, esp. on the ESPN family. If they can, our league office should do all they can to insure that our are as well.

Thanks all. Double D, I gotta agree with you. I realize that money does not grow on trees, and that there are other costs that go along with a production of the magnitude of a televised Valley game. Having said that, and I have noticed this with CSN Chicago moreso than FS Midwest, is that there is a "hollow" sound to the telecasts. It's frustrating, because it's as if Mitch Holthus or Spoon is calling the game with metal cans.

Anyway, once a Brave always a Brave!
