Fixed... and I think Deron Williams being good has less to do with Illinois and more to do with him just being good...
Illinois has all the national TV exposure, the big time conference, the better competition, and the better players to play with....that is all.
He will be a great player, on a mediocre team, with limited hype.

In addition, I'm sure the fact that Dawkins is a former NBA PG played just as big of a role as the Stanford name. If I were a PG I'd certainly want to learn from the likes of a former NBA PG.

"I chose Stanford because the program is growing, and it's a great fit both academically and athletically," said Randle, who is an honors student carrying a 4.0 GPA. "I wanted the chance to learn the point guard position from one of the greats in Coach Dawkins [Duke's second all-time leading scorer]."

Originally posted by Fetz86 View PostI know its only been a day, but has there been any report that this is the case? Boat was a great player this year, and is sure to be a ton as a senior. He liked Huggins, but when another PG verballed he dropped. He wants to be the only PG in his class where he lands. Providence and UConn were said to be who he was most interested in now, along with UNLV and Oklahoma.

Devin Langford from Alabama is visiting Friday through Sunday and they think the staff will offer and he will commit. He can play the point.
Tracy Abrams who is set as the PG coming in doesn't really play point apparently though....dunno Langford is 6" 7' so it would be pretty cool to have him at the point.

FWO you need to get out of Illinois! I'm not saying Illinois is a bad school but a kid choosing Stanford over them is to me is not a shock at all. Have you ever been to Stanford and checked out Silicon Valley and the bay area? If you did perhaps you would agree. I've traveled around and I can say the the SF Bay area is 2nd to none. This is not my original home town. The only thing that sucks is the cost of living but there is a reason it costs so much. Also Stanford has the 3rd largest endowment with notable young alumnus from Google. Sorry Illinois can't compare."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
