  • Chasson Randle to Stanford

Seems like a good kid who at one time looked at Bradley then moved up to bigger schools. Best of luck too him.

Chasson Randle, the No. 38-ranked player in the country, commits to Stanford over in-state Illinois, writes Paul Biancardi.

Illinois really wanted Randle -- he is a very good player

I heard they just got some commit over the weekend (shaw?) and Randle might have turned into an afterthought... could be wrong on that though...

Since I have no life......Randle was to commit at 5 pm but did at 4......

Shaw is announcing tomorrow at 3pm......and it is rumored that he will choose illinois

We all thought Randle was more certain than Shaw....

Illinois backup is a 6'7" PG......PG from alabama...Devin Langford. Who is visiting this weekend.

I don't hope Randle regrets his decision......but when Illinois is a top five team going deep in March....I hope he does.

Rumor now is that Bruce Weber was confident enough he'd land Randle that he doesn't have a legitimate backup. Watch for him to turn his attention to Ryan Boatright, who just decommitted from West Virginia.

I am pretty sure Langford has been the back up for awhile. He plays the point too.

But Look at them to go NUTS after Boatright.

He would be the perfect fit. A TRUE PG.

I don't think too many who can cut it academically will ever regret a free ride to Stanford.

It depends on how much he likes basketball.....

I was going to say the same thing. As a Saluki fan, I love Matt Shaw but question why he ever choose SIU over Stanford as rumored.

All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray (at Illinois)
                    Chasson Randle decided to walk
Cause he couldn't stand another winter's day!

                    He'd be safe and warmer

Randle would have been nice but he wasn't essential.....Illinois has plenty of guards.

We are all just being sore losers....

Shaw is big time. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Academics and campus are second to none for competitive sports.

So no recruit that ever was offered by Stanford....chose another school because they had a better basketball team?

Name another school with the academic excellence offered by Stanford, the number of Olympians and to boot a gorgeous campus. If they go somewhere else it has nothing to do with what I just mentioned. I could never blame a kid for choosing Stanford over any other. In other words you can't go wrong. Oh did I mention all the Nobel prize winners, Supreme Court Justices and I can go on.
