Violation of NCAA rules/controversy in Kentucky

First -- this story really only means much if you have a feeling for the intense rivalry and generally even hatred that exists between University of Louisville and University of Kentucky.

So -- Louisville was a little short on players so for their Red-White intra-squad scrimmage, they used one former player...

Kentucky had checked in advance and found the NCAA would not allow them to use former players...
and given the rivalry between UK and UL -- now it's an uproar in the state that maybe Louisville broke the rules..

However -- even if you do use a player who's not currently rostered..
then the game becomes an exhibition game...and then UL can just cancel one of their other exhibitions to compensate...

Now the Kentucky fans want Louisville punished!

BTW -- the first link even acknowledges they caught an NCAA break with their kid, Dieng, getting cleared!
