I like the Renaissance, but wish it was a bit more closer to the key attractions like the Hilton. Stayed at the Hilton last year and loved the proximity to the pre-game party (J. Bucks) and to the arena. The place was also quite empty since the Salukis made an early exit.

That's where I stayed also and it was nice after the Saluki fans left...

My little crew has been staying in the renaissance for the last couple of years but are interested in potentially finding a place closer to venue. I recently stayed in the (Marriott?) hotel attached to the union station. It was nice, but I don't think it has breakfast, and we've been spoiled by the Renaissance breakfast for sure.

I regularly get the Millenium for dirt cheap. Usually <$80 a night through priceline. A bit of a walk, but for that price I'll take it.

I've stayed at the Drury Plaza and Hilton. I liked both. Not sure either has breakfast, although the Hilton has a Starbucks in it (as I believe the Renaissance does as well).

I'd be willing to foresake proximity to the pre-game party and arena if the Lumiere became the team hotel...

Haha, good call, gambling and close to the Landing...

The Drury Plaza is a hotel I regularly stay at, and I really enjoy the service and quality. They have a breakfast, and drinks in the evening. It's really a nice set-up.

A second rate hotel for a second rate program. Appropriate.

The Westin is incredibly nice. It is a bit pricier, but you can occasionally find a deal on Orbitz or similar.

Also, the two times I've stayed in a Drury (never in StL) it was a very nice hotel for the price. The Drury's just up the street from the Union Station isn't it?

Thankfully I have a close friend that lives like 15min from the staduim so we stay with her and her family. Which is awesome on a very limited college student budget.

There's a Drury and a Drury Plaza. The Drury Plaza is newer, is closer to the river near the Hilton.

I've also stayed at the Hyatt (formerly the Adam's Mark). Very nice hotel as well, although I'll stand by my statement of wanting to be closer to the arena unless I can step out of my room and be at a blackjack table or a pub...

I did that the first year I went to the tourney but since then I have stayed downtown. Use the various travel sites and you can usually find a place pretty cheap, that is what we did with the Hilton last year and then got a room with a great view of the ballpark. Trust me, even if you are not of-age yet, it is still a ton of fun.

There are two actually. The Drury Inn is a stones throw away from Union Station and The Drury Plaza overlooks the arch. Both are nice and similar cost, but I prefer the Plaza.

I've stayed at the Plaza a couple times and you're right...it's a very nice hotel for the price, especially with the breakfast and evening drinks/snacks.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Agreed. It's been a while so I don't remember the breakfast, but the hotel was new and nice when I stayed there. I believe the Bears stayed there when I did. I recall having a conversation with Ben Kandlebinder in the elevator and telling him that I was going to send some 'entertainment' to his room if they met the Braves that year...
