I think JP might not be in the equation for back-up minutes by the end of the season, personally...

Truthfully, our bigs are the only players that truly matter as far as us contending. We know what we get with our guards. If we don't have a legitimate inside presence on both ends of the floor, it will be another muddling finish in the middle. Book it!

They both looked pretty solid IMO. AT looks much improved and bigger. JP was impressive.

Hopefully they looked good b/c they are good and not b/c they're both bad. I do think/hope that JP will be a solid 4/5 for the next 4 years.

The biggest difference between J.P. and A.T. is J.P. has better hands and sets better screens, A.T. has improved and needs to continue to work hard as we could use another big that can contribute on this team, A.Davis appears to have a lot of skills for a freshman, he held his own on the floor tonight and blocked 2 shots.

The students who are sports fans knew about the game. I'm not a student and it was advertised enough that I knew about it. We have a new arena on campus now and they still don't show up. Thank goodness for the Red Sea.

So are you saying he'll be getting starter minutes? Or are you saying he'll be further down the bench?

I thought he played very fundamentally sound and have heard so many people talk about his lack of speed, but really never noticed any such thing. I think the year off did wonders for JP and would like to see AD do the same. He can practice with the team, put on some size & if for some reason injuries require, he can always do a JE and start playing. I just think it will be hard for him to get any meaningful minutes this season.

If JP looks like that after one summer with Coach Wright I can't imagine what he will look like in his senior year.

I agree. We need either or both AT and JP to be able to contribute quality minutes for us to contend for the title.

Ok, first off i wasnt at the scrimmage as i had to participate in a pageant representing my fraternity.

But i talked with aaron(or as refrenced on here that geneseo kid/the little walk on #10 haha) after wards before our bible study and he was absolutely exhausted so i can only guess that they practiced before hand.

I'm glad to hear good things about our bigs, as i agree with everyone that we know what we are getting with the guards, and what really matters is if our bigs can hold their own (or what would be awesome is if they can dominate!).

As for the lack of students, sunday nights normally aren't the best because there are other events, and students normally put off all homework and stuff til sundays because they are spending fridays and saturdays relaxing and what not. Also, many of the fraternities have their new member ed and stuff sunday nights. The event was also not highly publicized to students and there was no major draw for students that were not big BU fans. But if you think the crowd was bad for this i def encourage you to come out to a volleyball game, where this morning it was me and one other student standing and cheering. Also, there was a volleyball game on friday, and there was supposed to be one saturday that was moved to accommodate the funeral for Phil (the baseball player that passed away).

I talked with a few of the guys at the volleyball game friday night and they are all excited for the season to start, and they are all very optimistic about this year and hopefully we can do something special.

I think you get what you get in these scrimmages...

But like BBrave said...its all about the bigs, and its why I believe BU will finish 4th or 5th. I don't believe they are good enough.

That said Prosser is huge, and should be in WWE

Dave Reynolds' article about the scrimmage-

“Some days Pross is unstoppable in there (rebounding),” Les said. “He’s so strong now and physical and has a good nose for the ball. (Thompson) can go get ’em with his length. His bigger build has allowed him to hold position.”

The bubraves site has some stats... and a report..
PEORIA, Ill. ? With three of Bradley's top returning players held out of the Red-White Scrimmage due to precautionary reasons, balance was the story in the return of the annual intrasquad scrimmage to the preseason calendar Sunday night at Renaissance Coliseum.

I think it just goes to show you, like I have said, NO SUNDAY games. I understand for this event but Sundays just #$@% for Hoops.

Went with a few newbies to the arena...equally impressed as I was the first time. Reminds me of a smaller (newer and cleaner) Tulsa arena.

As much as I HATE the idea of a game there leaving fans out a soldout arena with another 750-1000 SRO on the concourse would be wickidly loud.....

I don't expect much from Prosser THIS year...not saying he won't give us anything but the following years will be very good for him and BU IMO.

The RS was a great idea...he's going to be a load.

IF AT can give us a few boards, blocks and putbacks JP and AT will be capable backups to WE keeping him fresh and strong for the late minutes.

AT still has that quick shoot mentality with very few post moves. He, IMO, needs to concentrate on putbacks and working to get real low on the blocks. IF he could develop an up and under move it would be sweet.....
