..
yes, because that's exactly what they said and it's about all they've read...
and
YES, they are good fans who I know quite well as friends who are not only loyal and come to every game, they even follow on the road, and yes, they do give money...
I have followed Bradley basketball for over 40 years and I think I may be qualified to tell good Bradley fans.

However, IMO, DR has two stories within the blog that would be very interesting to even the most casual observer of BU hoops and the sports page of the PJS. One is Walter Lemon. A very good article/blog could have been written about Lemon in terms of the slam dunk contest, DR's observations in practice, how WL is adapting to college life and to division one hoops practice etc, and even incorporate quotes from JL or an assistant. That article would be far more creative and much more interesting to even the most casual of fans. The second article could be about WE, JP, and AT and how they spent the summer working out and bulking up for this coming season. A reporter could even ask the question of how the new facilities helped these players with their regiment to bulk up. I am not looking for in depth coverage of 'x's" and "o's" in practice etc, just for the PJS to write articles that are more creative which in turn would be more appealing to even the most casual of fans!

I didn't know that WL could really make a difference this season, but DR's article verified what some posters believed that he could. Sounds like he will make the most of his opportunity, and could be a big factor like DSE was last season if circumstances are against us.
I've always enjoyed his articles since reading them about a year ago - no different here, and we shouldn't expect too much more at this juncture in the season IMO.

wouldn't most fans who go to road games and every home game know the BU team pretty well though?

I think you'd be surprised..many who travel on road games seem to be enjoying the travel and social end of it as much as the intricacies of the game..
In fact, it's not a whole lot different that home games, as I am sure there's a few fans in suits and mink coats where you sit who are there as much for the refreshments and good social time than for the game, but they're still loyal fans who support BU..

yeah...I'm sure there are....but I don't have refreshments in a suit or when I'm wearing my mink
It's kind of a no win for DR as far as reporting...many fans don't care much about the mundane things with BU and those like here on this board are usually informed by someone and then it gets spread around here...
Today in the brave briefs they talk about Andrew's new tatoo I think...I really could care less about stuff like that

but when you say "no win" ..I can't imagine what you mean...
I would love to get paid for writing about Bradley University!!!
I would be up there on campus all the time and write everything I could!!
All I ask is a little coverage that is positive about the players and do a little digging..
If I didn't have a job that keeps me away from the campus, I'd love to go up there, watch practice, interview whoever would talk to me and I'd write all day long......
What is "no win" about giving us some articles on BU -- you think some people would gripe because there's too much on BU??
And don't cordon it off and hide it in a separate section that requires extra clicks and links....
where nobody knows how to find it on the internet -- that's self-defeating -- just put it in the main sports section!

By no win I mean we all have our preferences. Most on this board would love to see as much on BU basketball as possible but the PJS writes about all sports. So there is only so much space.
Besides they have their blogs, forums, etc, where they can add more for the more rabid fans who have the inquiring minds.
I've heard Cardinal fans whine about more Cub coverage, Illini fans about BU coverage, high schools about college coverage...well you get the point and so on. I think there sports dept. does fine for the most part in regard to coverage.
Just my opinon
