The 5 year series that had been agreed on between Marquette and UW-Milwaukee has been called off. However, when the contract was sent to UWM for signing, they wanted more money. The games at Marquette would likely be sellouts and would make as much as $500,000 for Marquette, but the guarantee for UWM is only $60,000. UWM apparently thinks they should get a bigger share than the amount similar to what Marquette pays other visiting teams to play them at home.

Soounds like a fair amount of animosity.
Why is UW-M giving away so much with a 4 for 1 agreement?
My guess is when the news of the 4 for 1 giveaway reached a few other college ADs, UW-M probably heard about it, and wanted to find a way to back out, so they are asking more money.

"In a stunning turn of events....
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Monday afternoon held a news conference to announce it was agreeing to Marquette University's offer to restart the series between the two schools next season."
So I guess they are back to their 4 for 1 deal between UW-M and Marquette.
