Gregory Echineque for Creighton will wear goggles this year, although for a different reason. He suffered a detached retina while at Rutgers and there is concern that a finger in the eye could cause additional damage.

I am just a bit skeptical --having never seen TB with goggles and reading nothing about it anywhere...
and wondering how is it that guys located in Connecticut have knowledge of TB wearing goggles??
Are they maybe confusing TB with Sam Singh, who always had his best games when wearing his mask??

Everything I can find regarding recent players wearing Goggles shows that players only seem to don them when they trying to avoid a poke in the eye, or are recovering from an injury where the eye needs to be protected. I can't seem to find any recent examples (Lew Alcinder would be excluded because he is certainly not "recent") of players wearing goggles due to low vision.

ESPN has traditionally done a poor job fact-checking information regarding Bradley. Is Bradley still in Indiana?

Amare had his iris torn after getting poked in the eye by Boris Diaw. It was a pretty serious eye injury and cost him a lot of time. I just hope TB gets more playing time. He's the most talented player on the team IMO.
JL are not respunsible foor the string of injunrys....

I think the big reason MSU is getting all the attention is the fact that they won 24 games last year because they played a terribly easy non-con and started 14-0? ish?

If they had a record like bradleys they wouldn't be mentioned either.......does anyone care that we return 3 of the top 4 scorers????????????????????????????????

Well, MSU is getting much more mileage out of their CBI appearance in the media than we got in our CBI/CIT appearances.

On a more serious note though, usually these short previews for ESPN, they always list 5 things to watch, which is usually a list of their top 4 teams and a 5th thing they deem relevant. Bradley is just good enough to be the best team not to be mentioned.

Which pretty much happened last year as well. And the year before.

Bradley is always just good enough to be the best MVC team ignored by the national media. Every single BU accomplishment is dwarfed by another better accomplishment by a MVC team happening simultaneously, and we're seeing the effects in the national media.

This team has got to do something about frontrunning to get some better press.

And still managed to finish #5 in the Valley?

I'm suprised that Bradley doesn't get more credit. In my opinion, it is going to be a three team race. BU, WSU, and MSU all have returning talent that are proven players. The league finish was very bunched up last year with the final week of the season meaning more than usual. I think there were several different scenarios for BU.

We have the talent to win this league, there is no disputing it. Will they show up and play, I have no idea. Also Little Brave mentioned that MSU's point guard is Pickens. Pickens was there back-up 2 guard. Nafis Ricks is their point and is a pretty good player. There biggest loss was Micheal Porter who transfered to SEMO.

Creighton is the biggest wild card, they were terrible late, and I don't think they are as good as they have been in the past, but they also have some good players.

I'm comfortable saying UNI lost too much to be a real contender. I think it comes down to who out of MSU, WSU, and BU can play well on the difficult Valley road show.

the year Drake won the league, almost nobody saw them coming (some here definitely did), even though they returned all their best players...
Then...... after Drake won 28 games almost everyone still thought they'd be good the following year - as they really only lost 2 contributors and were returning their best scorer and best rebounder...
So -- I think that's where UNI is this year they've lost too much to be the same team......and I agree that new coach and lots of new players means some difficulties for Creighton..
BU has to be able to hold leads and as always has to win on the road...

My assumption on the goggles (totally speculative, and probably far-fetched):

TB has made it clear through different ways that he would kill to be in the NBA. He's also smart enough to know that he needs to market himself to all the recruiting gurus and NBA scouts out there since he's not with a BCS school. So now he's going to do anything he can to try to look a little different. Goggles nowadays may get you noticed! Probably the same reason he's been doing the sleeve.

Just a thought... and if it's what he's doing, I think it's pretty dang smart.

LOL. I think the sleeve is old news nowadays, atleast one player on every team seems to have one....I even have one!

That could be true.....maybe someone should ask Coach Les during our next chat?

I can see CU doing real well the 2nd 1/2 of the season. They should have the best starting back court in the MVC. MSU to me has not proven anything and much less then BU. You need to prove to me that you can win on the road before I move you up to contending in the Valley.
