I worry a lot more about where we are picked then where we actually finish.
Where you are picked shows the talent you have, and where you actually finish forces you to deal with injuries and such, that no program can control,
I think Dave is vastly underestimating the talent here.
I have seen Styx...and i think we are in for a Rabey type improvement. He has gotten a lot bigger.
Regarding AT, that would be a season-changing ascension. Of course he has to be put in the game for that to happen, but you know what I am getting at.Onward and Upward!

I'm not sold on MSU. They played well at home but on the road were nothing special. Winning on the road is where top finishes are won. I like our chances and in reality the 2-5 places are up for grabs. We can contend if we can show depth in the 4-5 position. It is as simple as that. Of course chemistry and the will to win is important. If we come out to play for a full 40 minutes with no defensive lapses we'll be tough to beat."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

AT has shown great dedication to his strength training. That is a very good sign.
But there are many athletes that prefer the repetition of strength training vs putting time into skill development.
It will be interesting to see the impact oF that dedication on the court.

The Indiana State writer just showed how he voted......
Here's what he has...
1-WSU
2-UNI
3-MSU
4-Bradley
5-Indiana State
6-Creighton
7- Illinois State
8- SIU
9- Drake
10- Evansville
All-MVC
Toure’ Murry — Wichita State
Kenny Lawson Jr. — Creighton
Kyle Weems — Missouri State
Kwadzo Ahelegbe — Northern Iowa
Nafis Ricks — Missouri State
MVC Preseason Player of the Year
Murry, Wichita State
...I have to wonder what he's seeing when he puts Nafis Ricks on 1st Team All Conference, but excludes Sam Maniscalco and Andrew Warren..but to each his own...
Here are comparative stats last year for Ricks & Sammy & Drew...
Ricks -- 18.8 mpg, 40.7% on FG, 22.2% on 3pt, 72% on FT, 2.9 rpg, 2.6 apg, 7.4 ppg.
Sammy- 33.4 mpg, 46.5% on FG, 34.8% on 3pt, 84.5% on FT, 2.7 rpg, 3.4 apg, 13.1 ppg
Warren- 33.6 mpg, 40.2% on FG, 39.6% on 3pt, 87% on FT, 4.5 rpg, 1.6 apg, 14.4 ppg

I agree with DR's predictions, except switch #9 & #10.
I am torn between BU & CU for #3. I'm sure DR was also, but CU seems to finish better than us every year.
Even with DD's injury last season, we wouldn't have been a Top 2 team. We should have won 19/20 games last season even with his injury with the talent we had.
I think we'll be neck and neck with Missouri St. all season. We have more depth than them, but it's up to our bigs to get 'er done.

Exactly! There is no need to get worked up about preseason predictions!Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

Here's a prediction from a national writer about SIU -- unfortunately not one you would want to get....
He labels SIU as one of the top four programs nationally
"On the Wane".......a "slow decline into mediocrity...and unable to bust out of it"
Find all the latest college basketball news, live coverage, videos, highlights, stats, predictions, and results right here on NBC Sports.
"They're now merely average. The overall record could improve because of
three juco transfers, but until Lowry recruits better, the Salukis will keep
dragging the bottom half of the MVC."
CBSSports also has newly updated Team Reports...
Here's the one on Bradley...
Here's ISU

SIU had a great run......this business, for most, is cyclical. MOST don't stay at the top for long.
Time for BU to bust out of that mediocrity level and have an SIU (or better) type run......
