Bob Donewald, Jr. is the son of the Bob Donewald who was the ISU coach about the same time Dick Versace was at BU,
and he is the Chinese National Basketball Team's head coach...
This game was being played in China with Chinese refs.....
The Chinese ref, early in the game, makes controversial no-call, Bob Donewald, Jr.,
the Chinese head coach coach goes ballistic, you can hear him say, in English,
about his player who is on the floor - "he's f***in' hurt", then he pounds
the scorer's table repeatedly, charges onto floor and gets a couple "T's",
then he goes even more berserk...
The game is delayed a long time, then.........
...on the next live ball -- some further contact leads to a fight erupting, benches clear....
and most of the pummeling is being done by the host Chinese.....
So...the Brazilians inform the refs they are not going to play the rest of the game....
and the game is canceled..
but the Chinese bench is even more enraged by this action........storming directly after
the departing Brazilians in a mass attack
If you watch this entire video -- I think you'd have to say the Chinese, under the leadership of Donewald
appear to be the villains here -- storming as a mob after a couple of Brazilian players, punching, kneeing, and even
stomping the guys who go down like angry thugs...
