Surprised no one's entered a guess re the slam dunk contest I'm thinking one of the young guards, maybe DSE (I read he added four inches to his vertical jump) or maybe the new guy WL (we read he has some jumps). Maybe one of our bigs. Should be fun to watch, hope they use the court level shoulder cameras and the video stream works, this will be our first look at the current team. I was thinking last year, when is the last time we saw a tomahawk slam or windmill on a breakaway - TW and CR were more of the two handed variety, except on high lobs and high tip dunks. This should give us a good look at how easy our guys can get off the floor, I also think our bigs are going to be a big plus for us this season with blocks, rebounds and dunks

Good question...freshest legs I say. Will Lemon have the same difficulties maintaining stamina that he had in his YouTube video? I guess we'll have to wait and see on Friday!

Some tips for our bigs and a look at a future opponent...

This is a series of dunks by Christ School's (Arden, NC) Mason Plumlee. The video ends with Plumlee dunking 3 balls at one time... first time I've ever seen...

This is the dunk contest that followed the Blue/White game at Countdown to Craziness on 10/16/09

How come the Red/White game isn't going to streamed?

Is anyone planning to tape the dunk contest for those who won't be there can watch? A digital camera with video capabilities would do fine. I mainly want to see WL and DSE battle it out.

I'm going to take TB as the winner - as a long shot.

Unless one of the new guys surprises us...I would lay my money on Will Egolf.

                    Slam

I would rather see Will sit this one out.

Yes, definitely want Will to sit this one out. A torn ACL knee is very easy to re-injure. It doesn't even need to be a full tear again, just a slight jolt to it from landing hard after a dunk can knock some scar tissue loose and cause it to be very sore. It might be fun but, a slam dunk contest is about doing spectacular dunks, just can't take a chance here. If he's goin to dunk, do it in a real game & take your chances then.

and players who have torn one ACL have an increased risk of the other one going also - but I have heard that the docs who did Will's surgery three years ago are surprised at how strong and solid his surgically repaired knee is. Of course they expected Will to have a good final result, but he has far exceeded expectations -- which I think is a great credit to 3 factors....the docs, plus Will's hard work in the recovery & rehab period, and to the gift of great healing.

I vote for AT. As tall and long as he is, he should be able to perform a high flying 360' dunk, or bring back Sam Singh for an encore dunk ???

It looks like this event will be streamed live from the Bradley website for free. For those who can't go it might be fun to watch.

                              Let's hope this is true!
I haven't seen any Braves action until December at the earliest. I know there won't be much hoops, but it'll get me fired up for the season.
