ESPN is coming to this year's ToC- to see if the event is worthy of ESPN coverage for next year's event.

Wouldn't it be nice to host the finals at the Renaissance on ESPN?

Perea just verballed to Indiana after the flep with Baylor..

This one comes from our friend Jeff Goodman at FoxSports.com. According to this report, Baylor assistant coach Mark Morefield “sent dozens of texts to Hanner Perea’s AAU and high school coaches in July while they were coaching events,” a violation ...

Bobo commits to "the enemy" -- SIU.

Four basketball players are seeking releases from Southern Illinois.

              __________________________________________________ _____________

Southern Illinois coach Chris Lowery has found some of his best players in the Chicago-area-based Illinois Wolves club program, and he hopes that trend continues with Class of 2012 point guard Bobo Drummond.

Drummond, a 5-10 point guard, committed the Salukis while on an unofficial visit Saturday. Drummond attended Peoria Manual High School his first two years and was considered one of the state’s top 2012 players. He now attends La Lumiere Academy in Indiana.

Drummond has played for Illinois Wolves coach Mike Mullins throughout his high school career. Mullins was with Drummond at Southern Illinois on Saturday.

“Bobo is a terrific point guard who brings toughness and a winning attitude to SIU,” Mullins said. “He loves to compete at the highest level and is a winner.”

Former Salukis star point guard Bryan Mullins and current Southern Illinois players Carlton Fay and Diamond Taylor are among those who once played for the Wolves.

Drummond is Southern Illinois’ first 2012 recruit.

Congrats to Bobo.... I think you meant to say he went to Peoria Central for 2 years...... I am a little suprised he committed before this season. Players transfer to academies to improve their grades. They also transfer so they can play with better teamates against better schools. I know that AAU does the same thing with regards to getting better exposure and multiple scholarship offers. By committing before he plays 1 game for Lumiere Academy this takes away opportunity for better offers unless he de-commits. But this gives him alot of time to make sure his grades are in order. Good Luck Bobo

I would have liked to see Bobo at BU but wish him well there --
he is a Class of 2012 kid so he has two full years left in high school and more than a year before he can sign a LOI -- so we'll see if either he or Lowery will still be at SIU in 2012..
Bobo is a very good ballhandler and team leader, but at 5-10 (or 5-9) still needs to develop his outside shot...

                    donovan stewart

Not sure of NCAA rules but I was at dinner last night with a Limestone basketball coach and he informed me that a West Virginia assistant coach was at Donovans signing. The Limestone AD asked him why he was there and he stated he was invited? No Bradley coaches were there evidently and i called a Limestone admin today to verify this and he stated the coach stayed in the back and never came foward til the end of the signing. This has to be a NCAA violation I am thinking. This has me very concerned as a Bradley fan.

It's not a violation. Coaches do this all the time. And until the letter is signed, it's perfectly legal.

I wouldn't be concerned, he signed his letter of intent to Bradley. Any non-Bradley coach that tries to talk to him now would be tampering.

Did come forward after the signing to talk to him?

Are they just trying to get to the player one last time....see if he will run away and go to them?

It is legal yet very unethical but then look at the source, Huggins who has a real history of not caring anything about if his players ever get a degree so they can function later on in life, they are really just a piece of meat to him.

I'm not taking up for Huggins but I have talked to a few of his player from Cincinnati and K State and they all had nothing but praise for him. He takes a lot of inner city kids that otherwise would be worse off then without him.
