This is news to me (regarding this season's team alignment). Caught my eye at J Palm's collegerpi.com site listing of conferences and members.

That would be an interesting conference if formed with teams in Jersey, Utah, the Dakotas and Texas.

I don't know how these independents make it with so many games having crazy travel costs and virtually no home court revenue. I guess it really does make sense for them to go play paycheck games against BCS schools, but that could dry up before long since so many BCS schools get knocked for playing cupcakes.

I will go way out on a limb here, and predict that New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) will miss the NCAA this year.
