I think exposure is a combination of television recognition on an often basis, playing in those locations but nothing compares to winning and winning consistantly.

In 2006 Bradley was not confused with anyone, everywhere I went in Houston with BU gear on I got comments because of the wins in the NCAA tourney. Today if I wear BU gear not much is said, I might get a look but nothing more. Imagine how much recognition BU would have gotten if the program would have continued winning and appearing in NCAA tourneys. Its the only way anyone knows about Gonzaga, Butler, SIU or even CU

They didnt get exposure nationally until they won consistantly.

I'm not saying skip it, not at all, but there is a time and place to attack those areas.

I don't know the details here, but I believe WTVP has HD cameras which could be used to put BU televised broadcasts in HD. Is that correct? If so, it would be a major improvement over the quality of broadcasts in previous years and would be evident over the web as well.

Also, has anyone calculated how many games will be televised combining our national broadcasts (ESPN, MVC-TV) with our regional ones (WTVP)?
        Onward and Upward!

10 games on WTVP ( 5 home, 5 road- to be announced)
2 games on ESPN2- at Duke 12/8/10, at WSU 1/29/11
2 games on ESPNU- at Carver vs. Wichita State 1/1/11, at Carver vs. MSU 1/16/11,
4 games scheduled on MVC-TV network-- at Drake 1/7/11, at MSU 2/9/11, at Carver 2/15/11 vs. UNI, and at ISU 2/22/11, plus a possible 5th on the MVC-TV network wild card date- 2/26/11 at Carver vs. Drake; plus all the MVC tournament games except the championship will be on MVC-TV.
and CBS will televise the MVC Championship game 3/6/11

WTVP was the first downstate HD production facility, so they have produceed some local HD content, but I am not sure if they have live HD feed capability.

Now, most importantly, the article mentions these games will be broadcast on 47.2 which is an SD digital subchannel. If this were a full bandwidth SD, it could be very good, DVD good. But 47.2 is low bandwidth. (Think all youtube videos 4 years ago) The game they broadcast last year was very pixelated and blurry. You need bandwidth to show enough fast motion in detail using MPEG2.

It will be an even mix of home games and road games, and I am sure it will include at least one CU game!
In the past (either last season or the year before) Cox Cable in Omaha picked up the feed of your local guys, so I'm hoping the Creighton game at your place is aired again.

I remember that your on-air guy had some huge hair.....

                That would be classic.

Plus another 6 on CBS in March and April.

That might be enough to garner "national exposure."

6 CBS games would be awesome, but may 'only' be George Mason awesome...Butler good would be 7 for us.

We played 4 games on CBS in 2006...

I love the spirit, but remember that CBS won't have all the games this fall. TBS, TNT, and TruTV will split the 1st round games. Just as long as we get an NCAA tournament game, I think the board will be VERY happy.

Not in addition to the MVC tourney though...
