I am very excited to be able to catch games on WTVP!!!!!!

    BUT

according to the article, these games will be on WTVP World, digital subchannel 47.2

Since DirecTv does not rebroadcast subchannels, you can only get 47.2 via the free, OTA (over the air) signal using your TV's digital tuner with an acceptable antenna, or by adding a DirecTv AM-21 box as the external tuner to your DirecTv box (again using an external antenna). DirecTv may send you a free AM-21 if you insist on needing subchannels.

Now, the problem with WTVP is a lack of bandwidth (19.2 mbps shared with 3 channels), so sports may look.... well, "look" may be overstating the picture quality on high motion sports. It would probably look much better on any smaller TV. It has to still be better than bu.tv the past few years!

Wonder if Channelsurfing.net can pick up the WVTP feed and we can stream over the internet via their site?

I think it might be a little too late. The announcement on who the broadcast personnel are could come next week, as soon as contracts are finalized.

Depends if someone in the Peoria area knows of the site and knows how to get the stream up.

Getting ESPN+ deals, FSN regional deals, or a comcast deal, is a big step for a program. Thusly, this is a step backwards, to me, its tough to pretend otherwise.

It's tough for me to swallow, because I think this is our most talented team in the last decade, maybe two, save our Sweet 16 team.
I understand shaun but the Regional/National games are driven by who those networks deem worthy of being on TV and being good. Unfortunately, Bradley isn't really a player on the National or Regional scene. Haven't been for quite some time. Let's hope that changes.

No way is this team more talented than the 1995-96 team. Not close.

I agree that the Chicago market is important, but the BU admin is thinking nationally. I think they are concentrating on the East Coast...that's part of the reason we're playing in Springfield, Mass. in November instead of Florida. That's part of the reason why the soccer team took a 3-game road swing to start the year.

Someone mentioned it earlier. . .we're forever going to be confused with Butler and they are in the same region. . .so it's somewhat fruitless to concentrate solely on your home region. You have to give yourself national exposure.

If you think Chicago is your biggest potential market, you limit your potential. And I'm not saying ignore it entirely. . .but the bottom line is by mid-season most of the country will have already forgotten about Butler, but not so much here in the Midwest where there was already a reasonable awareness.

It will be an even mix of home games and road games, and I am sure it will include at least one CU game!

Problem is squirrel you aren't going to get National recognition until you have very strong Regional recognition and dominance. You can't just skip that part and hope to become a National player...doesn't work that way.
