With that vision in mind I think it is obvious that she has a clear mission to build and lead BU with minimal regard to certain traditions and the status quo. If she can help to increase the value of a Bradley diploma while putting quality, winning products on the athletic field then I have more tolerance for seeing some things done that I may disagree with. In fact, I think I have heard where the vision is to ultimately double BU's enrollment.
That said, I still disagree with dropping Coach Stowell so unceremoniously from the HOF Committee. I think the Coach earned and deserved better than that.

Maybe there is something to what BU fan 9 posted:
All I'm going to say is if you talk bad about Glasser you lose your job.

Maybe we could support 7,000 at most, but we literally couldn't house 10,000 students on campus and in the surrounding area. Rent would be crazy high, and it would drive students to want into the dorms that at 5000 undergrads are filled to capacity... Not to mention at 10,000 you start to feel much more like a large state school than the family BU is currently.
The problem with the expanding BU to 10k students is simply the fact the campus is hemmed in. It's going to take some creative planning (and more money) to pack 10k students on an 85 acre (maybe more with the new quad) campus. One area that I think the school really is going to target is Peoria-area kids, on the assumption they will commute.

Originally posted by Da Coach View PostI thought KK was good for Bradley. I was sorry to see him go, but I supported the President. I was not inconsistent like some seem to be now. Were you one of the posters here who celebrated that change, but who now are critical of the Stowell move? That is the inconsistency here.
I know many Obama voters that think they voted for something else. Bradley fans who wanted change don't have to blindly love every move made. There is no inconsistency.
It's not all or nothing. If you didn't want KK to leave it's okay to not support JG's decision.

Originally posted by Da Coach View PostHere I disagree. We should take Jim Les' name out of this discussion entirely, because it had nothing at all to do with Jim Les. If it was up to JL, it probably would have happened long ago.

Yeah I have heard that phrase before along with a couple others. The thing is that I believe that our diploma is already worth more than most schools similar to us or near us. We constantly are ranked high in publications under many catagories. Placement rates are high, graduation rates are high, retention rates are high, admission applications are high and so on. You get alot of bang for your buck here at Bradley. Good people in alot of departments are responsible for this. If we really do want to double our enrollment it would not be hard since we turn away alot of applications. If the pres wants to increase enrollment then thats great but problems will pop up in housing and parking.
Same goes for athletics...alot of good people who put a winnning product on the field and met other school requirements at the time have been ran off or replaced. Now you add the Stowell situation and all you can say is, "who is next?"
Good people who helped Bradley reach these heights, on and off an athletic field, and helped form the history/tradition are now gone. She certainly has the right to replace all these successful people. That still does not make it the right decision.
