  • Wichita State finally announces completed schedule

It took a while, but they have 17 home games (exhibition incl.) highlighted by a home matchup with Tulsa,
the first time they've played Tulsa since 2005...even tho it'll be the 120th time overall the two have met.
Unfortunately all we heard about how difficult it was for the Shockers to complete their schedule
is clearly evident in how many terrible teams they had to settle for as home guarantee games..
Texas Southern, UMKC, Chicago State, Nicholls State, and Alabama A&M...Tulsa's the only non-ISU-like team
    on their home non-conference slate...
WICHITA, Kan.- Wichita State University's 2010-11 men's basketball schedule is highlighted by 17 home games, more than 11 nationally or regionally televised games, renewal of the Tulsa rivalry, and a trip to the 2010 EA Sports Maui Invitational, fourth- year head coach Gregg Marshall announced today.

I don't care how tough it is, a double dose of SWAC should not be the end result. Aargh. Brilliant schedule turned merely solid by the end.

Nobody wants to play Wichita on their home court, most of the Valley schools are having the same problem which is why it is important to play in a good tour. on a neutral floor against BCS teams.

The Wichita beat writer has a snippet in his column that says this in homage to ISU's weak schedule...

"It would be a mistake to fixate on those games. The Shockers are set up nicely for a much-anticipated season...
If that isn’t somewhat soothing, think about a worse scenario. You could root for Illinois State."
