Obviously there may be issues of fraud and misuse of funds...
but the real issue is how can you expect people to be generous and give their money to a charity or allow their government to support the charity that's using their dollars so the folks running the charity can sit in the luxury boxes at the ball games??

Running a not-for-profit is a pretty tricky business. BU is a not-for profit, but pays JL far more than the 30k most not-for-profit's workers get paid. Same with not-for-profit hospital CEO's. This extends to charities as well, if a charity hires a CEO for 600k, but that CEO raises an additional $1M a year, isn't that a good decision? When you have market driven economy, that's the tradeoff you have to take. The market is also why teachers get paid less but are societally important, theres a large supply and (relatively) minimal demand. (I'm not complaing or a communist at all, just a realist.)
