DePaul now has commitments from Macari Brooks (6'2") and Jamie Crockett (6'4")- both very athletic players. They are hoping to land Mike Shaw this week, too. http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread...223#post191223

Macari Brooks is one of several high profile players that have not yet been cleared by the NCAA

I feel better about our Point Guard recruit than I would if we got M Orris who just committed to Illinois.

Freshman Macari Brooks, one of Oliver Purnell's first real recruiting class, was just ruled ineligible by the NCAA.

troubling ..one "insider report" claimed his transcripts was not in order...
Also ..on the good side for DePaul -- Jabari Parker's parents were both at DePaul's Blue Madness last night!
(Jabari was at Team USA Camp)

and in more bad news for DePaul junior Tony Freeland (DePaul's 3rd best scorer & 2nd best rebounder) will have season ending shoulder surgery
(the same kind as Drake's Seth VanDeest).

              Macari Brooks leaves school -

              Probably going juco
..one other incoming freshman tore his knee up the night DePaul had their "Blue Madness" and is likely out for the season, plus one other incoming freshman reneged his verbal (Shane larkin) and one key returnee (Tony Freeland) may be out for the season.
Thye could have as few as 9 scholarship players available

DePaul fans were hoping they would be better this year after 3 straight last place finishes, and going 2-52 over the last 3 seasons in the Big East.

I am not sure they would have been much better even at full strength, but now it will be surprising if they can stay out of the bottom 2 or 3 spots again.
