Where have you seen anyone hyping up Andrew Warren? Show me some articles where somebody has "overrated" Andrew Warren. He led our team in scoring last year at almost 15 points per game, he was third on the team in rebounds, third in assists, and had a 40% 3 point percentage to go along with a 87% FT percentage.... Oh right, and he did all of that coming off of a serious stress fracture that knocked him out for an entire season.

If anything, I think that Andrew Warren is underrated and should deserve more credit and recognition for his his accomplishments. Personal opinions aside, to say that he is overrated when barely anyone has hyped him up is completely ignorant.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

      Pretty compelling stats for AW!

Perhaps his lower 2 pt FG % (.400) and TO (63) took a little luster off his year.

If someone said before last season started AW would have had these stats, EVERYONE would have been thrilled.

        Thanks you saved some time!

Anyone out there go play a sport after a year of not playing it and see how well you do. I have high expectations from AW this year. I believe we'll see better all around numbers and with probably less playing time.

Here, here -- thank you bugregshu...nicely put...
Andrew Warren was all but written off after recurring fractures in his foot required two different surgeries...
I recall people saying they didn't expect much at all out of him last year...

..all he did was finish in the TOP 3 in scoring and also finish as the highest rebounding player in conference play who is listed as a guard...
He is currently the top returning scorer (tie) and top returning rebounder at the guard position. He also LED the league in conference play in FT pct and was 5th in 3pt pct.
If he was on any other team in the Valley he'd be getting hyped all over the place as a pre-season MVC POY candidate or a potential future NBA-er...but instead he barely gets a mention in the press...and if you can believe this...
there's even a handful of people picking in our pick-em for the starting lineup that don't even include Andrew as a projected starter!!

T, what is it about BU that results in National Media, Valley Media and the other Valley programs ignoring/disrepecting them?

Our guards are as good if not better then any in the league, have been for a long time, we need production out of our bigs, Taylor will give us that if he decides he wants to play every game and stay out of trouble, that leaves it up to the center position, we need multiple players to produce out of this position if we expect to have a great season, Egolf and Prosser will need to contribute and possibly Thompson .

I'm going to back up SRW here to some degree. I don't think AW is overrated by the media, but by our own fans. I really like AW, but I find he continually plays soft. It's nothing that can be seen on a stat sheet, but during important moments AW seems to disappear. IMO he is the antithesis of SM. AW has a basketball body, long, tall, etc. but lacks a lot of the intangibles a great player needs. SM is short and doesn't play long, but he has every intangible you could ever want. I'm not 'hating' or 'disrespecting' or 'dashing AW's confidence' I'm simply saying I can understand where SRW is coming from. On a offensive possession with the game on the line, if I have the choice to play DSE or AW. I'm taking DSE every time. (I do really like what AW brings defensively in key situations)

I'm not arguing what you say, just saying it sounds the same as last season when we were 9-9. Some things have to change, I wish I knew the answer - my wish would be for 3 bigs in the game and 2 guards and play the bigs near the basket to rebound rather than running out to the 3 point line to set screens. I just want to see change whether it's a change in the lineup or change in the style of play even if that means bringing a senior or two off the bench. I just want us to win and don't want to see another .500 season. If we don't rebound any better than last season...we'll be the same.

I agree with you except I'm not sure how well TB can D up at the 4 when a team decides to bang it inside. We can't depend on just our 5 to man the paint. That is an area that to me has the biggest question mark.

I thought so too. It's no better now than it was 10 years ago.

We have three of the top returning scorers in the MVC from last year. We have the leading rebounder returning, we have the top assist man in the league returning. I EXPECT us to win the MVC..........bottom line.

In terms of what I think we can do, I think we can win the league and make the NCAA tournament. I really have a feeling we will too!

I expect guys like WE and AW, whom some seem to doubt to come out and have great years after having a year or so to recover from their injuries completely and get use to their role as team leaders. I expect TB to mature and be his great self on the court. I expect SM and DSE to be tremendous. I expect DD to be solid as usual. I expect big contributions from JE, MK, JP, WL and even AT this year. I have high expectations from AD's career too, but freshman big men usually aren't as ready to contribute right away.

So basically I think everyone on our team is talented enough to contribute, a credit to JL.

In terms of mimimum requirements for my expectations, which I think is what people are getting at here, I think a top 2 or 3 finish and a trip to the championship game in St. Louis. I would say an NCAA appearance, but depending on how the NCAA judges us if we are an at large contender is unfair to a mid-major coach. So if we have an NCAA resume in my mind, but make the NIT because of BCS bias then I would accept that.

Now if we don't reach these, do we fire Jim Les? I'm not sure how I'll feel at the end of the season. I will support him as long as he's our coach. And it'll be a really sad day for me if we have to fire him. I do not believe it will ever come to this however, as I truly believe this year will be fantastic. He deserves a clean shot here with no injuries this year though, that is for sure.

I think we have more 3-Star and 4-Star recruits than we ever have in the Valley
thus I think it's stronger---although other similar conferences have also gotten stronger...

You have to go back to the 60's to find the last time the Valley was consistently ranked in the top 8 or 9 conferences every single year for as long as it's been currently happening...

I m looking forward to this season, just like past seasons, but really have zero expectations and just want to enjoy the season for what it is. I've always wanted to see Bradley have a stronger, more effective inside game and do think this is the best collection of big guys we have had in a while. I know that is not saying much, but at least it is getting better. I hope AT is part of the rotation this year, think WE will be reliable, am very interested to finally see JP and am optimistic about AD, the new guy.

I think it has been a great off-season for the Braves ... the new facilities, the coaching staff changes, and the recruits. While my expectations are minimal, I do feel upbeat about the program.

I expect a finish of at least #4 in conference and an appearance in the NIT or NCAA-- by expect I mean the coaching staff should be on hot water if that level of performance isn't achieved without major extenuating circumstances.

I think a reasonable goal should be conference winner or runner up and an NCAA appearance. We have a good back court with a ton of experience and quite a few guys who have been playing together for a long time now.
