  • Schedule update- BU to play exhibition against Quincy on Nov. 7

Quincy University has released their schedule, and they play 3 exhibitions against MVC schools- Oct. 30 at SIU, Nov. 7 at Bradley and Nov. 10 at Illinois State.

So they play at Bradley on Sunday, November 7 at 2:05 pm.
This game is not yet listed on Bradley's schedule-

Could this game against Quincy be the first men's game at the new Bradley Arena?

In addition to playing the men's team, it appears the Quincy women's team will also play an exhibition at Bradley on Monday, November 1 at 7:00 pm.
This is the first basketball game at the new Bradley Arena. The BU women's schedule already had this game listed-

NFL sunday at 2pm is not a good time to get a good crowd, I know that I will go but it will be hard to get a big crowd for this event, 6 or 7 pm would have worked out better.

Checking the schedule, the Chicago Bears do play that day at 12:00 noon at Buffalo. I guess that is what DVRs are for.
I will predict the 4,200 seat Arena will be full and rockin'.

Hmmm. That will be a tough decision for me. I THINK I will probably go to the game. Depends on how the Bears season is going.

There are dvr"s and the fans on this boars will attend because we put BU basketball first, there are a huge number of fans that go to there local sports bar to watch multiple NFL football games on Sundays and it is a much bigger event to them then one exibition game.

Not sure if it was on purpose or an accident but I'll re-post my OPINION.

I understand scheduling can be difficult but Sunday games are just stoopid. Football, Bears or otherwise, is so popular and even growing with fantasy football that its silly to compete.

Forget football but Sunday games in general are stoopid....I hope we had NO other options.

I will be torn but probably go since its the first game in the new arena.....whatever happened to Sat nite games.

I am in 2 Fantasy Football leagues, a major NFL b****** pool, and a huge Steeler fan.
I am sure BU cares less, but I am going to pass on a Sunday exhibition game and I don't care where the h*** it is played.
Sundays are for Church and NFL football, seems some folks at Bradley have forgotten that!

I'm glad you brought up the Church/family thing.....I just think Sundays should be left OFF the hoops schedule...maybe I'll just go buy a car that day.

Those are all legitimate reasons to miss Bradley basketball, and I am sure there are others. But lets stop short of labelling those at Bradley who do the scheduling as "stoopid". They work hard and do as good a job as possible, especially considering they have to deal numerous other factors like the limited availability of the Civic Center, sharing the Arena with other sports, finding suitable opponents willing to play us in Peoria, and meshing our open dates with those of the opponents.
I think most fans appreciate the work and efforts of those at Bradley. Let's not be so quick to always denigrate them.

For each fan who thinks Sundays are not good days, there are a lot of us fans who like Sunday games. Many of us work nights, and have difficulty making most games. Sorry some can't make it, but I am looking forward to this game!

And that is what makes America great, Bill we are all different.
Pretty boring otherwise. Enjoy the game, say hi to my wife. I am sure she will be there.

I didn't call those in charge stoopid...I said its stoopid to play on those days. I'm not denigrating anyone. I'm simply pointing out what the masses believe and that is Sunday games are not liked...at all.

I hope its a sellout...it probably will be. But becuase its the first game...when THAT novelty wers off any other Sunday games will be like those last year at the PCC...poorly attended.

Limited arena dates...hmmmmm...I thought the new arena eliminated that reason/excuse.

I understand there are many factors as to when the games are tio be played...like I said earlier I HOPE they had no other choice.

Quit being so tough on BU admins.....I say quit handing them a blank check on everything they do. BU is tough..I think they can take some constructive criticism.

I would offer (IF they are smart) they WANT to here from the fans they serve. If I were BU I would want to know and understand Sunday games are not liked and will hurt the program in revenue and attendance.

I'm glad for ya Bill....enjoy the game.

I would argue the word "lots" though. I guess its relative but 9 of 10 fans I talk to do NOT like Sunday afternoon games. The grumblings you here from the masses at those games is deafening.
