Hmmm not sure. Perhaps he didn't do anything for Lindy's this year. As stated I know Pivovar does the MAJORITY of the Lindy's publication for the MVC every year. I also know that WSU beat writer Paul Suellentrop does the Athlon's pub for the Valley. DoubleJayAlum was right in that Perrault did the recruiting blurb (plus a little more) in Lindy's last year, but he basically took a whole page with his article. Perhaps that was just a one year thing.

A little more review on Lindy's, Athlon, and the Sporting News preseason issues...
I've had a chance to see Lindy's, Athlon, and The Sporting News (which used to be Street and Smith's). I won't bother to review all the arti...

Where is a good place to pick them up? Obviously I'm no where close to most of you since I am in Kansas. I checked a local grocery store that usually carry them and they didn't have anything yet. Are there any chains that might be in Wichita that I can get them at? Where do you all pick yours up in Peoria?

Hard to believe the Creighton writer picked Creighton further down than the other two writers! But at least he appeared more objective.

I disagree with the other two publications that have Creighton finishing second and third. I don't see how that will happen with all of their player losses, even with a good coach. I think it will be Bradley, UNI and Missouri St. battling it out for the second through fourth slots, with hopefully all of them at least making the NIT as Athlon believes will happen with the top four teams in the conference. It would also be nice if as per their prediction, the Valley will benefit from the additional slots in the NCAA Tournament, but of course that means an extra game just to make it into the final 64 team tournament.

I see CU as a second 1/2 team. Can they hold home court advantage until they jell is the question? WSU should be the overall pick to win but I see BU and CU right on their heels. MSU IMO has not proven enough yet and I'd even give UNI an edge.

as happens every year -- I think injuries will play an important part in determining the end result -- and right now, nobody can really predict that stuff.......

I was at the Barnes and Noble in Omaha over the weekend and they had the Lindy's, Athlon and Sporting News previews. I don't know if there is a Barnes & Noble in Wichita, but you could try Barnesandnoble.com.

Well, we'll worry about that after this season. Let's just do as well as we can this year, and let the chips fall where they will afterwards.

Not good if true, but as always, what happens in reality versus on paper are two completely different thinks most of the time.

Well, I can agree with you on worrying about this years recruiting class later, because its over, done I ve seen a lot of things on paper that looked good and bad. How it turns out either way, is real, what it will be If it does not turn out the way it is wrote, then it should be nothing more, than paper hanging on a bathroom wall, waiting to be used.
But a program's/business's success is a on going project in progress Not a one and done or waiting tell the bottom falls out So with what looks like a not so good/weak recruiting class this year and the lost of 3 top players next year, it's rightfully so to have concern about the programs future What happens if things don't go right this year, then what Just saying, friend Hoping this year's team wins it all

Well that's what I did mean. Let's hope this year's team does play well at the very least. But you are right that if this is one great year and then back to mediocrity (worse than we have seen the last year or two particularly), this does not bode well for future recruiting. And no, I don't want our program to become the next Drake even if we were to win the conference once or twice a decade (though I'm sure many would be happy with that). I want our program to be a consistent conference contender each year, no less. But if we have a shot going far this year, let's just enjoy things for now and then the university higher ups can worry about the direction of the program after the season.

Dogs if Jim Platt wouldn't have brought Andrew Davis along we would not have been on the chart at all. We would only have one recruit. I still consider this as a wasted year for the program.

one service ranked Lamar as the 8th best recruiting class in the NATION this year -- so much for ranking recruiting classes..

Here are a couple other reminders...
in both 2007 & 2008, SIU had recruiting classes that were ranked nationally - they are 33-30, 14-22 in Valley play since
In 2007 & 2008 Indiana had Top 10 recruiting classes nationally, they are 16-46, 5-31 in the BT since

Out of curiosity, could you list the complete MVC recruiting rankings out of that publication?
