  • Braves Club Meet-N-Greet- Friday, Aug. 27 at new arena

The first Braves Club activity of the new year is this Friday, August 27, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the new Bradley University Arena-

This event will precede the Braves Volleyball game, which will be the first official BU athletic event at the new arena. The game starts at 7:00 pm.
The Braves Club Meet-N-Greet is from 6:00-7:00 pm in the new Braves Club Room overlooking the Arena floor. Braves Club members will be allowed free admission to the volleyball game, and will be able to meet and greet Bradley Braves athletes from all 14 Bradley teams. Refreshments will also be served.

Working in the Arena, I have been able to see so much and it truly is really amazing. Everything in that place is first class and I would really encourage everyone to attend because from efforts I have seen made on campus to promote the first game, it should be a heck of a crowd.

Also, the newly revamped Bradley Red Sea, that now has over 200 members signed up, will have a table, so if you get a chance come stop by and say hi to me and if you have any questions or anything about what we are doing this year I'll be there to answer them!

Way to go! Now get a speaking slot before the game hyping up the benefits and see if you can get more sign ups, at the event.

Perhaps a couple of BU MBB players, and/or Jim Les, could stop by your table at the event as well to sign autographs or give out BU BB tee shirts to BU students!

That right there is an excellent idea. Maybe Bradleyfans.com and the redseaelite should get together to sponsor T shirts for either the games or as a promotional give away?

I'd second this sentiment. Though they already have a shirt with funds from the student tix. Maybe use the $$$ to set up road trips to the tourney, or ILSU games?

honestly i'm not sure how donations/ BF.com and Red Sea T-shirts would work, but i'll ask around and see what kinda interest there would be. also we are working on road trips and stuff to away games, but its really hard to get people to take a bus, most of the time its easier to just get some car pools going, cause most people have friends here or there and want to see people instead of going just to the game and back. Or at least thats what i've been told by the Athletic department and SAO whenever i bring it up. But this is a new group and full of new ideas and people this year so maybe we can get a bus trip or something, i'll have to see what i can do.

Just finished setting up the Arena and I can tell you that on one concourse, the Athletes will be sitting there to sign autographs and stuff I guess and then the next table after them is for the Red Sea so they will be right next to the Athletes, you can't miss them.

The stadium looks amazing by the way. Took a long time to set it all up but it looks worth it. Definitely try the roasted nuts (unless you are allergic, of course), they are very good. They also come in three types of nuts: cashews, almonds, and pecans.

Not gonna lie I'm pretty excited for tonight, hopefully you guys will be too when you see the new place.

                          Reminder-
Anyone not busy tonight- come over to the Bradley Arena around 6:00 pm and join in the Meet-N-Greet with the athletes from 6-7 pm. Free parking available! And all Braves Club members will be admitted free. I just received my 2010-2011 membership card in the mail. But if you didn't just show last year's card or tell them you are a member, and I'm sure you'll get in free.
Also, stay for the women's volleyball game- and get a look at this unbelieveable facility. You will be glad you came!

                            RedSeaElite1-

Another way of selling this club to non sports fans is to make this more then about basketball. You could connect yourself to a worthy cause for fund raising and perhaps even have a player or coach become a spokesperson. There are tons of ways to spin this and help create a positive experience for the students that goes beyond sports. You are after all creating a community and if you can extend it beyond basketball season the better. Think affiliate marketing, an extension of your brand.

I would also create a database and create a few demographic fields and try to see what works for different groups. I'm sure women have much different outlook then the guys.
