Michigan is in Europe playing the same kind of Euro tour exhibition games as just about every other team that has gone on one of these tours...
heck, even Dyricus' GSA team did the same thing and came back undefeated....as almost all those D-I teams do on their exhibition tours..
But here's a different story...
Michigan is not to be undefeated....
thus far, they have gone to Belgium, and played a couple of roughly the same caliber teams as Dyricus' team did...
In their first game they at least hung somewhat close, losing to Gent 69-63 and getting blown away in the 4th quarter...
But yesterday's game has to send some real shivers of concern down any Wolverine fan's spine...
Michigan played Charleroi and got absolutely hammered 90-60 to go winless at 0-2 so far...again getting blown out in the 2nd half by 51-30!
Admittedly Charleroi might be a good team, but seriously - a 30 pt blowout??
Observers who are travelling with the team have said that the level of competition is roughly the same as "an average Big Ten team"!
This Charleroi team was 23-11 last spring but has made numerous roster changes from last year and have only 5 players who were with them last year and they have several ex-D-I players from places like James Madison and McNeese State.
things do not look good for Michigan...
