I hope he added 4 inches to his shooting range too, he shot 39% from the floor and 64% from the line. Methinks he has...
Agree.....
MJ was never a great shooter early on either....I think DSE can and will improve his shot just like he did. With his ability to get to the rack adding a sweet J from 8-12 feet would make him a ton and a half.
In fairness, I want to point out, that he got way, way better as the season wore on and Dyricus finally recovered fully from the nagging stress fracture that bugged him the first half to 2/3 of the season....
Over the final full month of the season, down the stretch when the games were tough, and his performances really mattered...
here's how Dyricus did...
He was 20-44 from the floor (46%), and he was 6-13 from 3pt range (46.2%), and 9-11 from the free throw line (82%)..
note that senior Chris Roberts was 42% from the floor, Jake was 36%, Dodie 42%, Warren 40.2%, and even Sammy - who had one of the highest FG%'s in the Valley was 46.5%.
In fact - had Dyricus kept up that percentage, his 46% would have placed him 3rd in the Valley among guards behind only Sammy & only barely behind Harry Marshall.
I have nothing to complain about DSE from last season.
He was a major spark plug for the Braves and they wouldn't have made it above .500 without him.
Of course, he can improve, but he has so many strengths to his game.
I liked his 3-pt. shot - most importantly, he shoots it with confidence.
Hope he runs the point well when he gets the chance.
Now I can see why he got 4 dunks in the final game of the tour - adding 4 inches. He already showed he's got hops.
It's really hard to believe he's only a sophomore. I think we really got a BCS-caliber steal in DSE..... and, if he continues to improve each year, has the potential to be Valley POY before he's done and BU's next NBA player (TB may be the next).

I believe we will find out this year if TB really is NBA material. Most 3 position players in the NBA dominated at the college level.

I thought that his three point shot needed some work, but I am not worried about DSE given his work ethic!
Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Ya' know, looking at his stats - even the games I watched, were not too impressive in the 3-pt. realm. Just seemed like he hit some clutch 3's in the 2nd half of season that stood out more than his misses.
I think we'll see small improvements in each facet of his game, including defense.
I would take 4 DSE's and a big all day for my starting 5!
I already thought he had mad hops. Now, I'm almost afraid for the rest of the Valley if what he said is true. Is it even possible to add 5 inches to your vertical in 1 year?
