  • New Hope 4 Bears & Braves

Though unrelated sports, it seems most of us follow another team to precede the start of BU hoops...and BU football will undoubtedly finish another season undefeated - no need for predictions there!
The Chicago Bears kick off the 2010 regular season in 1 month, while BU tips off their reg. season in about 3 months.

What are your expectations of both teams ??“ how will they end up in the regular season? I know - it's hard to tell at this point, but let's have a little fun while we wait.

    My thoughts:

BEARS: 9-7 (3rd in NFC Central)

    BRAVES: 19-10 (12-6) (3rd place in Valley)

These seem like safe predictions, but anything better than this would surprise me. Another year of high expectations will hopefully amount to something!

A tough year for Cutler... Bears go 7-9 and Lovie is on hot seat and maybe gone....

Bravos go 20-9 second in MVC win Valley Tourney
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

Bears will be improved but so is their division.

      8-8

Bradley. After viewing the new MVC website it is a little surprising how little respect BU has within the Valley. Maybe I am over estimating the depth in the back court and the abilities of Brown at 3/4 but I expect a high finish in the MVC and a challenge to WSU for the top team in the conference.

Then again it will come down to how well we protect the paint, play defense and rebound. But those things I also fully expect to be better at this season.

22-7 overall Lose to Duke and I am not liking the W Carolina game. A win there I think will end up being quite impressive.

Bears are going 10-6 and will place 2nd in the NFC North with a wild card playoff game they will not win.

Braves will go 20-9 and place 3rd in the MVC with an NIT bid but no home game in the tournament.

I think WCU was a senior-laden team last year. I'd be real surprised (and disappointed) if we lost there.

            Bears - 15-1 Superbowl Champs

Braves - 17-1 MVC champs Final Four

In reality - Mediocre seasons from both, everyone is disappointed.

At this point in the offseason, all that's guaranteed is another phenomenal year from Jay Cutler.
