I don't think you will be able to match the roar heard when CR hit that game winning shot in the EIEIO tournament. And that was with just around 5,000 people.

Could it be they want a home game where more than 500 students show up?
What part of illegal don't you understand?

500 if you include band, cheerleaders, and alumni under the age of 25.....

Now I think you got it! The future needs to be built before we all get a bit longer in the tooth.

Yes, as a 30-y/o season ticket holder I think some effort should be made to make sure people like me keep coming. I'm not going to lie, such a thing wouldn't drive me into being a not-Bradley-fan, so it's all kind of immaterial, but how many people like me are going to be upset that their season ticket doesn't include "X home game?"

I see on the PJ Star board where someone is saying the Civic Center and Deb Ritchel have stated that if BU moves a game they would be in breach of contract.....interesting.

both sides of such a contract have some leverage and things are being re-negotiated...

In other words...they need us as bad as we need them...

Yeah, well the Civic Center doesn't have any nuts to call BU on anything. As the 2nd most frequent (and maybe the largest?) tenant of a money hemorrhaging complex, they can't afford to screw with them.

PCC can't replace BU, but BU could (in theory) buy up the blocks behind One World, JimmyJohns, etc. and build their own place. Advantage, BU.

Hopefully this is all some sort of powerplay to get better dates, better percentages, better rents, etc.

FWIW, The riverman are the largest but BU isn't in the greatest bargaining position either. They aren't going to build an on-campus arena that will handle what they need.

It shouldn't be a power play.....BU plays at the PCC and thats the end of story. They aren't going anywhere and the PCC knows it.

You really do not understand leverage in negotiation where just a crack sometimes gives you just enough to hold a position. Yes CC has them over a barrel, but that is the point of threatening to play games at the new facility. Actually playing a game there shows them that it is not an idle threat, they are saying test us if you like. Pure business play and I like the angle. BU plays one game there I'm sure you will show up for the next game at CC, bitching and moaning but you'll be there.

this statement is already wrong....and may get wronger...

BU will soon delete one of the games being played at the Civic Center yearly, namely the 2nd exhibition...
then in the spring (I hope we are in the NCAA) if there are games like the NIT, CBI, CIT, in all likelihood, the CC will lose those games, also...
Then it may just be a matter of time until even a regular season game or two goes elsewhere....

I'd say it's more than just likely, since BU has already stated all campus-site postseason home games will be played at the new arena.

We can't build the future by hoping the students support the program the way they should, no matter where the games are played. They know how to find their favorite places on Farmington Rd and they're not that much closer than the Civic Center. The Braves play at one of the finest arenas I have seen and to stoop, yes stoop, to playing in a 4500 seat gym, yes 4500 makes it just a gym, just so the students would honor us with their presence is ridiculous. Us long-tooth BU fans have been supporting the teams since childhood and it would be a slap in the face to deny any of us a chance to see any home game.

A slap in the face. Now isn't that a bit theatrical? Especially when we are talking about one game here. We are a society about me first instead of creating an environment for the future and better yet a strong legacy. Sometimes it takes a wise person to give in a little to show those that cannot see the beauty of what is in front of them. We will not agree on this I can see but oh well it will be what it is when it is.

Does anyone recall all the clammoring we had to get new blood up on the hilltop...
to hire new people with new ideas....to run out the old crowd, bring in people who are going to make changes....etc...
And I even recall for the large part exactly who were the people most loudly clammoring for those changes, and guess what?

Well, as I noted elsewhere, this is PRECISELY what we have....and I find it odd that the people who most strongly applauded
those personnel changes we got, are also the ones who are whining about the decisions they are making at Bradley...and the direction they are taking the program!
Hypocrisy - pure and simple... you asked for it, now you have exactly what you asked for, and bingo - not happy....so predictable..
Maybe now some more firings and re-shuffling....
