  • Great Missouri Valley Preview

The Valley front offices themselves have given us a very fine preview.

    Here is the pdf version

and here is the web page version

but they do seem to have the teams arranged in what might be a prediction of how they'll finish, although they don't say that.

Here is how they have them:

    1-SIU
    2-Creighton
    3-Wichita State
    4-Missouri State
    5-UNI
    6-Evansville
    7-Bradley
    8-Drake
    9-Illinois State
    10-Indiana State

ESPN/Andy Katz appears to have become a MVC-lover
Nopt only did he get by Wichita State last night for some of their Midnight madness, he also includes the Valley as one of the
    TOP SEVEN POWER CONFERENCES
ESPN.com takes a look at the 25 teams that should make the biggest impact on the 2006-07 season.

Should be outside the top seven this year, for sure. . .The biggest thing is how much the league is returning from last year, when they had the sixth best conference RPI. Unfortunately, though, it only takes one bad loss to drop the Valley lower. For instance, the InSU loss to IPFW last year single-handedly made the league #6 instead of #4.

Whereas, typically a bad loss for the other leagues is losing to one of us.

squirrel, what do you mean should be outside the top 7 power conferences this year. this will probably be the strongest the valley has been from top to bottom in years.

          ???

Adda-boy Squirrel. Always the optimist. You are counting up bad losses already and nobody has played a game yet. And that last comment... what does that mean? So if any MVC teams beat any of the BCS teams... well that doesn't help the MVC because it isn't a bad loss anymore to them. But it isn't a good win for us either?

          I'm lost.

and today he writes about his experience at Wichita

(I wish when he's talking about WSU's history that he had a clue that Wichita is NOT the only present MVC
team that's been to a Final Four.
In fact, Andy, there's one Valley team that's been to the Final Four TWICE and that's played in the title game twice.)
