He was a man among boys. I enjoyed watching him play! Can'tsay that about to many opposing players but he just had that special something like HH and JL had.

I agree. There is not one OOC home game that we have any business losing this season. And regarding games on the road, yes a loss at WCU would not be a killer, but it could go a long way in determining whether we are more of an NIT contender rather than an NCAA contender. But a loss would not kill us either. We just need to make sure we take care of our non-conference home schedule because they are all winnable with the caliber of players we have coming back this season.

Thanks Coach! So does this mean we have one more opening to fill since we only have 11 games scheduled?

Nice article about Xavier in the Aug 2nd issue of Sports Illustrated.

I'm not sure it should be "expected", unless you want failure. It could very well happen, but I would not say it is expected, or even likely. I would call it very possible.

Are we looking to add another game to our non-conf. schedule?

Not many tune-ups vs. good competition after the Duke game to get us ready for the Valley season. Looks like just 2 games between Dec. 9th and the first MVC game (usually the 28th,29th,30th).

I like our schedule to this point though. Would be nice to get a decent #8 team for the H.O.F. Tip-Off Tourney.

One game per week in Dec prior to the MVC opener late Dec may be a good thing for BU. Less chance for injuries, more time to practice (fundamentals) and to work the new players into the system. Know rust could be an issue, but perhaps outweighed by rested, injury free team.

Any closed scrimmage "exhibitions" like last year at DePaul on the horizon for this year?

the closed scrimmages are not publicized so even if one were in the works..it would be hard to know...

The results are not publicized but the actual playing of the scrimmage is almost always made known by either the schools official website (not on the official schedule) or the local beat writer reports it.
