Team going to Europe coached by Illinois assistant Jay Price/incl. Dyricus Simms-Edwards
Purdue's DJ Byrd.. "..will take part in a Global Sports Academy tour of Europe with some of the
top young talent in the Big Ten and Missouri Valley. From Aug. 12-21, the
group will play at least six games while also experiencing life in cities such as
Brussels, Bruges, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Dortmund. Members of the tour will
take walking and boat tours of each of the destinations on the trip."
I think this is a great opportunity for DSE. I could quickly see him surpassing DRuff and the like with the skill set he seems to have.
Yeah I am excited about him. I am also looking forward to seeing what Walt Lemon can bring to the table. From what I heard I expect him to be a great player as well.
Thinking is the hardest work, that is why so few people do it. -Henry Ford
Yeah...I've been in college for a while now and I'm pretty sure that awesomest is not a word. -Andrew E.
Good for DSE to get additional court time with other good players.
Good exposure for BU and another carrot for recruits to join BU.
More MVC exposure to European players looking to play in US.
Brandon Paul (Illinois)
Tyler Griffey (Illinois)
D.J. Byrd (Purdue)
Ryan Evans (Wisconsin)
Dyricus Simms-Edwards (Bradley)
Gene Teague (Southern Illinois)
Adam Leonard (Missouri State)
Seth VanDeest (Drake)
Ben Simons (Drake)
Tyler Laser (Eastern Illinois)
I'm gonna stick my neck out and say the top 2 scorers will be Valley kids....
I have no idea who 3 of these guys are, so among the Valley guys, I'll go with Adam Leonard with top scoring avg., but DSE will be solid in every category.
I think DSE could be what Darren Brooks brought to the Salukis his JR, SR years. Solid defender, ball-handler, scorer, assist-man, rebounder. Last season was just the beginning of a great BU career for Dyricus.
I hope DSE gets a good chance to play a lot of minutes. He plays essentially the same position as several others on the list (Brandon Paul, D.J. Byrd, Adam Leonard, & Tyler Laser). Maybe DSE will get a lot of time at point guard, since there isn't really a pure point guard among those players listed.
PEORIA, Ill. -- Guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S.), a sophomore member of Bradley's 2010-11 men's basketball team, will be one of 10 college players to team on a tour of Europe from Aug. 12-20 with Global Sports Academy.
