???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Anyone notice Davis is a pre-med major? I like to see those types of players on the BU team, though I don't envy him. Probably the hardest thing to get a degree in at BU behind engineering and maybe actuarial science, then add in competitive D-I athletics? He'll be busy...

There are a couple other pre-med guys on the team- Ned Goertzen and Charonn Woods- so maybe they can be a little help to Andrew if he needs it. I heard AD is a really bright kid, as are Ned and Charonn. But then again, this entire team has proven they are the best academically we've had at Bradley for a very long time.

But trying to maintain a high gradepoint average in pre-med while dedicating so much time to an athletic endeavor like D1 basketball is nearly impossible. Very few athletes are able to do it for 4 years. And med schools are so competetive and hard to get into, that maintaining a very high GPA is essential.

I recall Anthony Parker started out at Bradley as a Chemistry/pre-med major. He was a really bright kid, too. But he just couldn't do it with all the time he spent away from classes, and in the gym. Eventually he changed his major. I applaud Anthony Davis, as I do for Ned and Charonn, if he's able to do it.

By the way, I noticed one other interesting item in Ned's bio-
Ned Goertzen (0) Guard - Full Name:  Ned Jacob GoertzenBirthplace:  Henderson, Neb.Parents:  Ron Goertzen and Linda ArbogastSiblings:  Wes (31),

He has got to be about the only college kid that doesn't own an iPod.

I was hoping something would come out of the PJS re BU recruiting.

DR wrote on July 8 in his article 'Recruiting Month Upon Us': "Check out the Journal Star for recruiting updates throughout the month."

Not much since then until now July 30, and the only update is Sean Harris is still planning on attending BU, and, that several Recruiting Sites have listed several possible BU recruits...

Talk about top notch recruiting reporting! I guess he figures BU Fans don't search the internet for this information themselves...

I am a chemistry major. If i was 10 years older i might have been good friends with AP!

I talked to Graham Hatch from WSU who is a chemistry major.

I knew there was something about you I liked! I also got my degree from Bradley in Chemistry. However, I didn't try to play D1 sports at the same time.

very true. I struggle with my engineering course load and being at every home game. I dont know how the players do it sometimes, and for that i highly respect them. When i see articles about players getting top noch grades i really am proud to be a Bradley student.

Nice article. I'm glad after 30+ years of inferior Division I facilities, we're finally on par with everyone else. I am ready for the season to start!

"Build It and They Will Come".....we hope............

Hopefully the new BU Practice 'Taj Mahal' will result in higher quality future recruits chosing BU vs UNI, ISU (red), Creighton, SIU etc.

Ex NBA'er coaching, big arena, big fan base, devoted local community, great tradition/history, state of the art practice facility, lots of basketball alumni playing professionally, top notch school and with plenty of resources for athletes, program travels internationally and to good in season tournaments....

                            $64K Question

If the program doesn't succeed in the future, what's left to do to make this program more successful?
